Thought for the day
"Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other." -- Oscar Ameringer, "The Mark Twain of American Socialism"
Joe Biden’s 2020 campaign slogan of “Build[ing] Back Better” is not panning out during his presidency.
For starters, the nation’s economy remains pummeled by issues such as a clogged-up supply chain, inflation, growing interest rates, and expensive energy costs. As all this happens, it is the Biden administration’s self-admitted view that the nation’s economy is stronger now than it’s been throughout history.
As the economy crumbles, public safety isn’t too far behind. Crime has gotten so out of control that established businesses like Starbucks are closing their doors. Meanwhile, the southern border is still being overrun with illegal immigrants.
Considering all the problems happening in Biden’s America today, Republican lawmakers are convening accordingly.
A Utah-based apparel company was slammed by the Federal Trade Commission last week for an unusual violation. Lions Not Sheep was ripping out the “Made in China” labels on some clothing items and replacing them with “Made in the USA” labels.
The company and its owner, Sean Whalen, were hit with a $211,335 fine after an investigation by the FTC. The agency got the complaint in May and said that other countries’ labels were also replaced.
It did not identify which other countries the products originated from.
It’s not enough that the U.S. Senate just cleared the way for hundreds of billions to be poured into the climate boondoggle. Now the L.A. Times insists on the Biden administration declaring a “climate emergency” to push the nation further down the inflationary rabbit hole.
The horrifically misnamed Inflation Reduction Act shovels tax funds the nation does not have to spend into the environmental money pit. To the Times, however, that is a mere drop in the bucket.
Instead of being happy with this rare victory for the Biden administration, the leftist paper pushed the White House to go further. They harken back to promises made to battle the so-called crisis with “presidential proclamations, executive orders, and regulatory power.”
The Inflation Reduction Act passed the Senate on Sunday, leaving it to the House of Representatives to vote upon.
Democrats fought tooth and nail to pass this bill, claiming it will bring down inflation rates. However, Republicans have warned this legislation is going to cause inflation to skyrocket, due to all the excessive spending.
Meanwhile, Democrats are framing their spending as “investments” in healthcare, climate change, and other reforms that will help Americans.
Over the weekend, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) railed against the Inflation Reduction Act citing the many ways this bill will devastate the United States.
The raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate was reportedly sparked by an ongoing probe into the box loads of materials the ex-president took with him to Florida when he left the White House — including notes from North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and even a cocktail napkin.
A showdown over the materials first erupted back in January when the National Archives said it had retrieved 15 boxes of White House records — including classified information — from Mar-a-Lago that Trump should have turned over when he left office. The feds took another 12 boxes of material on Monday.
Some of the items recovered in January included correspondence from Kim Jong Un and a letter former President Barack Obama had written his successor, sources told the Wall Street Journal.
A list of the unclassified items found in the boxes was about 100 pages long — and included the cocktail napkin and a birthday dinner menu, according to a Washington Post source.
Senator Tim Scott joined CBS Mornings on Tuesday and gave his seal of approval after the regime raided President Trump’s home on Monday night in their continued quest to discover a Trump crime.
President Joe Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 into law on Tuesday at the White House. His actions during the event left viewers bewildered.
Former President Trump posted this campaign-style video on "Truth Social" in response to the FBI raid last night at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida looking for potentially classified documents he may have taken from the White House:
Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, one of two Republican members of Washington’s congressional delegation who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump, has conceded her reelection bid after being overtaken in late vote tallies by an intraparty challenger.
Trump had targeted the six-term incumbent and endorsed Joe Kent, a former Green Beret, in the 3rd Congressional District contest. The district is in southwest Washington state, across the border from Portland, Oregon.
Herrera Beutler, who was first elected to the U.S. House in 2010, lead Kent by about 4,700 votes on election night but her lead shrunk throughout last week, and updated returns put Kent ahead and into the No. 2 spot on Monday night.
Once Clark County, the district’s largest, updated its tally with most of its remaining votes Tuesday, Kent led by 869 votes and 22.7% of the vote, and Herrera Beutler was in third place with 22.3% of the vote.
The US Department of Commerce Census Bureau is demanding gun holster makers and retailers turn over customers’ order numbers, product descriptions and shipping information, according to letters from the agency obtained by AmmoLand News last month. Those who don’t comply could face fines of up to $10,000.
At every turn signs of madness prevail on this imperiled earth like never before. Despite proof that the conjuring of the greatest deception in world history – the so-called Covid-19 pandemic – has never been proven to even exist scientifically, nor been isolated under a microscope, but by criminal conspiracy, the pandemic threat along with climate change and green agenda are the hoaxes driving the elites’ global economy collapse masquerading as their Great Reset. Injecting “Warp Speed” bioweapons into billions of unsuspecting arms trusting their government authorities generating obscene profits of $124 billion for the Rockefeller-controlled Big Pharma modern medicine healthcare coup d’état, and in one fell swoop, premeditatedly destroy global human health more than decades of advances ever enhanced it.
The non-vaccines deceptively marketed and labeled with the misnomer of “vaccines,” have allegedly duped 67% of all Americans to be “fully vaccinated” (according to usafacts.org), cold-bloodedly murdering millions and permanently injuring many millions more across the planet at a never before seen scale.
The still enforced mandatory COVID vaccination is wreaking havoc within our armed forces, with a skyrocketing death rate of 1100% last year from the year before 2020. Plus, on top of the death jab taking its death toll, our nation’s top leaders are hell bent pushing all soldiers out of the services who value their health enough to refuse the mandate kill shot, thereby only weakening America’s capacity to defend itself against all enemies both foreign and domestic. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and his imposter boss are two treasonous enemies from within, both abandoning their sworn oaths to honor, protect and defend the US Constitution. The humiliating loss of American history’s longest running war in Afghanistan says everything, by design giving away $85 billion worth of weapons to our enemy.
The Republican Nominee for Arizona Governor, Trump-Endorsed Kari Lake, has responded to the FBI’s raid on President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago, naming it “one of the darkest days in American history.”
Less than 24 hours after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, Hillary Clinton gave an inappropriate announcement on social media Tuesday morning.
On Monday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a weaponized arm of the criminal regime, launched a lawless, surprise raid on President Donald J. Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home claiming he had failed to surrender classified documents that belonged to the National Archives. Like a swarm of angry hornets, upward of 50-armed gestapo ransacked the estate, detained guests, and even cracked the president’s personal safe.
Although the FBI claimed it had been sent to recover classified information Trump allegedly took with him from the White House to his Palm Beach resort in January 2021, sources at Mar-a-Lago believe that the agents, under Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray’s instruction, were there in search of something entirely different: sealed indictments on Deep State saboteurs that Trump had co-authored following the stolen election; proof that Trump had invoked the Insurrection Act of 1807, which cedes provisional control of the nation to the U.S. military; and, allegedly, Trump’s irrefutable proof that Biden had stolen the election.
Of the indictments, our source said any such documents were not kept at Mar-a-Lago, for Trump would have given them to White Hat military commanders upon leaving the White House, as well as documents pertaining to the Insurrection Act.
Russia on Monday announced a halt on U.S. inspections of its nuclear storage under a crucial arms regulation treaty, claiming that Western sanctions have hindered similar tours of U.S. facilities by Russian monitors.
The measure suggests unstable connections between Moscow and Washington over Russia’s military action in Ukraine and stresses the first time the Kremlin stopped U.S. inspections under the New START nuclear arms control treaty.
In declaring the freeze on U.S. inspections, the Russian Foreign Ministry said the sanctions on Russian flights imposed by the U.S. and its allies, visa limitations and other obstacles effectively have made it impossible for Russian military experts to visit U.S. nuclear weapons sites, giving the U.S. “unilateral advantages.”
The FBI agents who raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida resort were looking for certain records, according to a lawyer for Trump who was on the scene while agents were at the resort.
“They’re looking for presidential records, what they deemed to be presidential records, and anything that could potentially be classified,” Christina Bobb, the lawyer, told The Epoch Times on Aug. 9.
“We had been very cooperative with them before. And it’s unclear to me why they went to such drastic measures to do this. But they did. And as far as the probable cause goes, they wouldn’t give that to us,” she added.
President Biden appeared unfamiliar Monday with the specifics of the massive spending bill called the Inflation Reduction Act that Senate Democrats passed Sunday, stating it funds healthcare “and God knows what else.”
Moments earlier, Biden misstated the size of last year’s $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure law while touring flood damage in the Kentucky hamlet of Lost Creek.
“We’ve never done this before, but because of a number of things we got done on a bipartisan basis — like a billion, 200 million-dollar infrastructure project — like what we’re doing today, we passed yesterday, helping take care of everything from health care to God knows what else,” Biden announced.
“What we’re going to do is — we’re going to see, for example, they got to put a new water line in in the community,” the president continued, speaking without a prepared script.
You know it’s bad when even CNN is admitting the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago was not warranted.
An anti-Trump co-host of ‘The View” is pointing to the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago as a political boon for former President Donald Trump, arguing that the development could land him another term in office.
Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán issued an astonishing denunciation of the United States’ governing Democrats at a speech in Texas, telling American conservatives they “hate you and slander you and the America you stand for.”
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s address to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas, Texas, was made under something of a cloud, with the Hungarian leader having been under sustained attack from the establishment media for a July speech in which he said Hungarians did not wish to follow “post-Western” liberal governments’ immigration policies because they “do not want to become peoples of mixed-race.”
These comments were heavily emphasised by media outlets such as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in their coverage of the CPAC speech — the fact that Orban subsequently clarified that the basis of his stance on immigration “is not biological… it is not a racial issue, it is a cultural issue” and that “it is beyond the pale for any political issue to be approached on a biological basis” was not reported — but he appeared to quickly win over his American audience.
Germany’s Antifa-linked Interior Minister has threatened the public with consequences should they decide to like posts she disapproves of on social media.
Nancy Faeser, Germany’s leftist Interior Minister, has threatened the general public with consequences should they decide to like posts on social media she deems problematic.
The minister — who wrote an article for a so-called “anti-fascist” publication simply titled “Antifa” only last year — made the threats ahead of a protest in the country which is set to involve the symbolic “pillorying” of fellow left-wing climate minister, Robert Habeck, who has so far failed to get a handle on the country’s gas crisis.
In response to a video announcing the protest, which depicted a fake Habeck tied up awaiting his public pillorying, Faeser has decried the protest as going too far, despite the video itself emphasising that the real Habeck was not going to be pilloried in what was explicitly described as an attempt not to upset the hard left.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has expressed dismay that Brexit has temporarily delayed efforts to normalise the consumption of bugs to achieve “net zero”.
The state-owned news organisation, funded by a compulsory licence fee which all television viewers and all consumers of BBC iPlayer content online must pay on pain of fines backed by imprisonment, noted that the sale of edible insects in Great Britain became illegal after the end of the so-called Brexit transition period — although not in Northern Ireland, which was surrendered to the European Union as a kind of customs and regulatory semi-colony — in a short video report focused on two so-called “insect farmers” with a clear commercial interest in the “eat the bugs” agenda.
The BBC described bugs as “superfood” that “release far lower CO2 emissions than livestock farming”, with their two insect farmers also focusing on their potential contribution to achieving the ‘Net Zero’ ambitions of outgoing prime minister Boris Johnson and globalist institutions such as Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF).
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue the special military operation in Ukraine.
High-precision long-range air-based missiles have destroyed an active buried command post of AFU Air Force near Voronivtsa, Vinnitsy Region.
High-precision, long-range sea-based weapons have hit a large ammunition depot near Uman, Cherkasskaya Region. More than 300 rockets for HIMARS MLRS have been destroyed, as well as large amount of ammunition for US M777 howitzer.
As a result of active offensive actions by Russian troops, the 2nd Mechanised Battalion of the 14th Mechanised Brigade lost its combat effectiveness. Having lost more than 340 men killed and wounded, the remaining personnel abandoned their positions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday said the “whole population” of Russia is responsible for the war in Ukraine and called on Western nations to ban all Russian travelers as a punishment.
“Whichever kind of Russian … make them go to Russia,” Zelensky told The Washington Post. “They’ll understand then. They’ll say, ‘This [war] has nothing to do with us. The whole population can’t be held responsible, can it?’ It can. The population picked this government and they’re not fighting it, not arguing with it, not shouting at it.”
Zelensky claimed that the West banning Russian travelers was the only way to prevent Russia from annexing Ukrainian territory. Russian-installed officials in the Russian-controlled Ukrainian territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia have said they are planning to hold referendums to join the Russian Federation.
