Thought for the day

"When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won.  There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall.  Think of it--always." -- Mahatma Gandhi

Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney is not likely to win her upcoming primary next week, according to most polling, so she has begun to focus on her next political chapter.

The Republican lawmaker, who is trailing Trump-backed Harriet Hageman by double digits, now says her most important political priority moving forward will be to keep the former president out of the White House.

“America cannot remain free if we abandon the truth. The lie that 2020 presidential election was stolen is insidious. It preys on those who love their country,” she said in a final campaign video to Wyoming voters, according to Fox News. “It is a door Donald Trump opened to manipulate Americans to abandon their principles, to sacrifice their freedom, to justify violence, to ignore the rulings of our courts and the rule of law.”

The outlet added:

Cheney was the most senior of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach the then-president on a charge of inciting the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the U.S. Capitol. The attack was waged by right-wing extremists and other Trump supporters who aimed to disrupt congressional certification of President Biden’s Electoral College victory in the 2020 election.

Public opinion polls indicate Cheney will likely get trounced on Tuesday in the Republican primary for Wyoming’s statewide congressional district. She badly trails Harriet Hageman, a lawyer and politician who has been endorsed and heavily supported by Trump as the former president aims to oust Cheney from her House seat in a state where he won a whopping 70% of the vote in 2020.

Joe Biden’s Justice Department and FBI had already taken a lot of heat for conducting a raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate on Monday.

But as more details continue to emerge, the DOJ and FBI are facing new criticism as well.

Reports noted that as many as 30 FBI agents showed up early at Trump’s home and stayed for around 10 hours, searching every part of the estate — including former first lady Melania Trump’s personal wardrobe closet, which they left in a mess.

The New York Post’s Miranda Devine reported exclusively:

FBI agents scoured Melania Trump’s wardrobe and spent several hours combing through Donald Trump’s private office, breaking open his safe and rifling through drawers when they raided the former First Family’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida Monday morning.

The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.

Biden Administration officials asked Twitter to ban me because of my tweets questioning the Covid vaccines, even as company employees believed I had followed Twitter’s rules, internal Twitter communications reveal.

In a White House meeting in April 2021, four months before Twitter suspended my account, the company faced “one really tough question about why Alex Berenson hasn’t been kicked off from the platform,” a Twitter employee wrote.

The employee recounted the meeting discussion afterwards on Twitter’s internal Slack messaging system. The message, and others, make clear that top federal officials targeted me specifically, potentially violating my basic First Amendment right to free speech.

Human Events has obtained a copy of the search warrant filed to search former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. That warrant was filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and details information about the property and the search.

The warrant details the address and locations to be searched, including that “The locations to be searched include the ‘45 Office,’ all storage rooms, and all other rooms or areas within the premises used or available to be used by FPOTUS and his staff and in which boxes or documents could be stored, including all structures or buildings on the estate.”

The warrant did not include a call to search parts of the property that are in use by members of the Mar-a-Lago club, or rentals.

It further reads that the “Property to be seized” includes “All physical documents and records constituting evidence, contraband, fruits of crime or other items illegally possessed in violation” of legal codes, including:

“Any physical documents with classification markings, along with any containers/boxes (including any other contents) in which such documents are locations, as well as any other containers/boxes that are collectively stored or found together with the aforementioned documents and containers/boxes:

The Wisconsin Assembly Republican leader who hired a former state Supreme Court justice to investigate the 2020 election fired him Friday, three days after the lawmaker beat a primary opponent whom the investigator and former President Donald Trump had endorsed.

The firing of Michael Gableman capped a 14-month ride that began when Assembly Speaker Robin Vos hired him to look into the election under pressure from Trump. But as the probe progressed under bipartisan criticism, Vos’ relationship soured with both Trump and Gableman.

Vos initially said he was “supremely confident” in Gableman’s abilities. After his election win Tuesday, Vos called Gableman an “embarrassment to himself” and to the state. Gableman, who has repeated Trump’s lie that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen,” has said that Vos “never wanted a real investigation.”

“After having many members of our caucus reach out to me over the past several days, it is beyond clear to me that we only have one choice in this matter, and that’s to close the Office of Special Counsel,” Vos said in a statement issued first to The Associated Press on Friday.

The five House Democrats running for re-election in districts won by former President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election face a giant hurdle this week that raises doubts about whether they could survive facing off against their Republican challengers in the November midterm elections.

The House is set for a high-stakes vote Friday on a massive social spending and taxation bill, officially known as the Inflation Reduction Act, that many economists have said would have no actual impact on inflation, and instead add to the already sky-high national debt.

No Republicans are expected to vote for the bill, while Democrats need near complete unity, including members of the "Squad," to pass the legislation.

Beijing cannot ignore the deployment of US Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) systems in South Korea as it undermines China’s strategic security, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said on Friday.

“China has always respected South Korea’s sovereignty and understood its security concerns, but the US deployment of THAAD missile systems in South Korea undermines China’s strategic security, and Beijing cannot ignore this,” Wang told a briefing.

Heads of foreign ministries of South Korea and China during a meeting in the Chinese city of Qingdao earlier this week, exchanged views and expressed their positions on the THAAD matter. The parties agreed that this issue should not be a stumbling block between Beijing and Seoul.

Russian ex-President Dmitry Medvedev has issued a veiled threat to Ukraine’s Western allies who have accused Russia of creating the risk of a nuclear catastrophe by stationing forces around the Ukrainian Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant.

Ukraine has accused Russia of firing at Ukrainian towns from the site in the knowledge that Ukrainian forces could not risk returning fire. It says Russia has shelled the area itself while blaming Ukraine. Russia says it is Ukraine that has attacked the plant.

Investigators with the Ottawa Police Service’s professional standards unit allege Const. Helen Grus committed discreditable conduct when she took on a private investigative project to find the vaccination status of parents whose infants or children had died.

Between June 2020 and January 2022, Grus allegedly accessed nine child or infant death cases in which she had no investigative role. On Jan. 30, 2022, Grus also allegedly interfered directly with an investigation into an infant’s death by contacting the father of a deceased baby to inquire about the mother’s COVID-19 vaccination status without the lead investigator’s knowledge.

The charges against Grus were filed as exhibits at a disciplinary hearing on Monday morning, but she has not yet submitted a plea. Grus has also been served with a notice of increased penalty, meaning that if she is found guilty of discreditable conduct,  the service may seek dismissal or demotion as a penalty.

The Ukrainian Army is using American-made and supplied Guided Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (GMLRS) to fire shells at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in Ukraine, which is occupied by Russian Troops.

The image above shows a blast fragment from an American GMLRS shell "Actuator" recovered after it exploded on the grounds of the Nuclear Plant Thursday.  The English language on the Actuator manufacturing label shows the part number, serial number, the date of manufacture, and says "Actuator Module Assembly" on it.

The Russian Army won control of the Nuclear Power Plant early in its Special Military Operation to de-militarize and De-Nazify Ukraine.  The nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe, with six nuclear reactors.  Russia conquered it in March of this year, and has safeguarded the plant ever since.

The reason Russia took the plant is that if there was a nuclear accident with that plant, radioactive contamination would be carried by local prevailing winds, directly into Russia.  The Russians don't want any radiation floating into their country.

Today, Accountable.US released its updated and conclusive report on Big Oil’s massive second-quarter earnings, showing that the 28 largest oil companies made a record-breaking $90 billion in profits – a 183% increase over the same quarter from last year. According to the report, during the past three months, the companies funneled $15 billion in dividends to their shareholders while dramatically raising gas prices to historic levels for American consumers.

Oil executives boasted about their massive profits during earning calls: Coterra’s CEO described their financial state as an “embarrassment of riches,” and Halliburton’s CEO went so far as to brag that customers will “expect and accept” high gas prices.

Chile’s National Geology and Mining Service, Sernageomin, ordered a temporary suspension of activities at Lundin Mining’s (TSX: LUN) Alcaparrosa mine following the opening of a giant sinkhole above the underground operation.

The sinkhole, which emerged on July 30, is 50 meters in diameter and 200 meters deep.

In a statement posted on social media, Sernageomin said the decision was made in response to safety concerns of the nearby Tierra Amarilla community and also to support the work of the experts conducting an investigation into the causes of the accident.

Sernageomin also said that it has issued sanctions against Candelaria, the subsidiary that operates the Candelaria complex in Chile’s northern Atacama region, where Alcaparrosa is located.

Alcaparrosa is one of two underground mines that make up the Ojos del Salado operation within the Candelaria complex.

It can certainly be said that the risk for nuclear war is far greater today than it was less a year ago. Ever since the conflict in Ukraine began, the collective West and its vassals, also known as the “international community” have been engaged in a hybrid war against Russia, stopping just short of direct confrontation. Although some EU leaders like Borrell seem to think that the West is an active combatant in the conflict. “We must explain to our citizens that this is not someone else’s war,” Borrell said in an interview published by newspaper El Pais on Thursday. “The public must be willing to pay the price of supporting Ukraine and for preserving the unity of the EU.”

We are at war. These things are not free,” he added.

The same Borrell offered his thoughts on Western hypocrisy and double standards in international affairs, with regards to the Zionist slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza this past week. “We are often criticized for double standards. But international politics is to a large degree about applying double standards. We do not use the same criteria for all problems,” he told El Pais newspaper, as cited on Thursday. A rare piece of honesty for a man who makes his living by lying and deceiving others. Yet he failed to mention why those double standards exist. International politics is only about applying double standards when you’re an imperialist and colonizer. Of course he wouldn’t mention that they don’t “use the same criteria for all problems” when it is his masters in Tel Aviv that are the ones waging war on defenceless people.

So this proves that the West throwing tantrums to the left and right over Ukraine really has nothing to do with concern for civilian lives lost. Because when the Zionists massacre children with impunity, the “international community” is pretty silent.

George Hunt was present at the ‘Fourth World Wilderness Congress’ in 1987 and noticed that it had very little to do with the conventional environment movement and was surprised to see people like Maurice Strong, Edmund de Rothschild (Pilgrims Society), David Rockefeller (Pilgrims Society), and James A. Baker (Pilgrims Society; Cap & Gown; trustee American Institute for Contemporary German Studies; Atlantic Council of the United States; National Security Planning Group; Bohemian Grove; CFR; Carlyle; advisor George W. Bush in his 2000 election).

“I suggest therefore that this be sold not through a democratic process – that would take too long and devour far too much of the funds – to educate the cannon fodder, unfortunately, that populates the earth.” (David Lang, a Montreal International Banker).

In 1992, our national leaders who are nothing but errand boys for the Rothschilds, sold us out in terms of national sovereignty, democracy and personal freedom. They adopted a depopulation agenda under the guise of “conservation,” which really means conserving the planet for the people who own and control it. We are seeing the fruits of this long-term depopulation agenda today. Mankind has a terminal disease, blood poisoning. “Money” is the blood supply of society. Our feckless ancestors gave control of money to people who use it to enslave and destroy us.

An alternate measure… would be to add birth control chemicals to the water supply or to commonly ingested foods such as beer, soda, or milk.”  — Maurice Strong

Jair Bolsonaro’s rise to the presidency of Brazil was unimaginable just a few years before he took power. Long considered a pariah and a disgrace, the former army captain and congressman occupied a fringe position on Brazil’s extreme right during the 14-year reign of Brazil’s Workers’ Party (PT). Yet just two years after the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff, which many consider a legislative coup, Bolsonaro seized the country’s most powerful office. With a new election approaching, and polls overwhelmingly indicating the electorate’s preference for PT candidate and former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, many fear Bolsonaro will resort to a coup to hold onto power.

In this special limited podcast series from Latin America-based journalist Michael Fox, produced in partnership with The Real News Network and the North American Congress on Latin America (NACLA), we’ll take listeners on a journey to understand Brazil’s turn toward fascism. This is the story of Bolsonaro’s rise, his far-right government that set the country ablaze, and how the United States helped him do it. This is Brazil on Fire.

Former FBI Deputy Assistant Director Terry Turchie joined Jesse Watters on FOX News on Thursday following AG Merrick Garland’s disgraceful actions this week storming President Trump’s home and refusing to release any evidence on why it was necessary.

Turchie warned that China may have infiltrated the highest levels of government. This is not such a bold statement considering who is sitting in the Oval Office today and his Chinese business dealings.

President Joe Biden has tapped a FEMA official to lead his administration’s monkeypox response team amid states of emergency across the country. On Tuesday, the White House named regional coordinator Robert Fenton as the response team’s coordinator and CDC official Dr. Demetre Daskalakis as deputy coordinator.

Fenton and Dr. Daskalakis, an expert on health issues affecting the LGBTQ community, will be tasked with spearheading strategy to address the ongoing outbreak. This as comes as California, Illinois and New York have all declared states of emergency as cases rise. The White House has not said if the administration plans to declare a health emergency on a national scale.

“So when it comes to a public health emergency, that is a decision that that is made by Secretary Becerra,” stated White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “That is not made by the president. But, as you know, we are considering every policy option to help end this outbreak that is urgent and that is important to us. But again, that is up to Secretary Sarah to make that decision.”

On Thursday, the CDC made national headlines for rolling back recommendations that individuals who come into contact with a COVID-19-positive person enter into quarantine. This, along with keeping a six-foot distance from others, is no longer necessary, according to the health agency.

In making these amendments, the CDC explained how time and different societal changes led to new guidelines. Thus far, it’s estimated that 95% of people who are at least 16 years old have certain immunity from this virus.

US-China relations descended into a downward spiral in recent years, not least due to the US sending ever more ships to the disputed South China Sea and increasingly selling weapons to Taiwan, which Beijing considers a breakaway province.

China's ambassador to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, has told Sputnik that the US should "wake up" and cease attempts to maintain its global hegemony, which is increasingly waning every day.

"The United States is sick in the head with the Cold War mentality. But it's time for them to wake up and stop their futile attempts to maintain American hegemony," Zhang Hanhui said.

Judicial Watch announced today that YouTube censored a Judicial Watch video about Biden corruption and election integrity issues in the 2020 election. The video titled “Impeach? Biden Corruption Threatens National Security” was falsely determined to be “election misinformation” and removed by YouTube, and Judicial Watch’s YouTube account was suspended for a week. The video featured an interview of Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. Judicial Watch continues to post its video content on its Rumble channel (

Judicial Watch is America’s largest nonpartisan government watchdog group, and the latest YouTube attack limits its ability to share its educational content with its nearly half-million YouTube subscribers. Judicial Watch is also the nation’s leading election integrity organization, and has testified to Congress on the issue. It most recently filed a lawsuit that stopped an extreme gerrymander by Democrats in Maryland. Judicial Watch has also successfully pursued federal litigation in multiple states to clean up millions of dirty names from voter registration lists. YouTube previously deleted a Judicial Watch video at the request of California government officials, according to documents uncovered by Judicial Watch last year. Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton was also banned by the Chinese communist-controlled Tik-Tok earlier this year. (The Heritage Foundation was also censored by YouTube this week.)
