However, Berlin chose to refrain from participating in the military operation itself.

Russia’s Ethnic Germans Start Resettling in Crimea – German Cultural Autonomy

Russia's ethnic Germans have started resettling in Crimea, albeit not in mass numbers, Yury Gempel, the chairman of the Crimean German National and Cultural Autonomy and a member of the Crimean parliament, told Sputnik.

Just recently, we have welcomed one more family. They are currently preparing to settle in Dzhankoy district; they run their own small business," he said.

He added that Russia's ethnic Germans wished to build a settlement in Crimea in a German architectural style with the aim of preserving their culture and traditions.

"I think [the initiative] has good prospects. Moreover, such a project has already been implemented in Kazakhstan," he noted.

Too Late, Germany Realizes Its Mistake

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's disastrous decision to throw open an essentially defenseless western Europe to hordes of military-age males from the Islamic ummah will go down in history as one of Christendom's greatest blunders, either a triumph of wishful childless-feminist thinking or a malevolent act of epic proportions. So this statement by new Interior Minister Horst Seehofer, while welcome, is way too little, and far too late:

New Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said Islam does not belong to Germany, and set out hardline immigration policies in his first major interview since being sworn in this week, as he sought to see off rising far-right challengers.
Note that in the European media -- and soon enough in the American -- any conservative defender of tradition is now labeled "far-right." As I've often said on Twitter (@dkahanerules), on the Left, "treason is the highest form of patriotism."

Plans of German industrialists to engage in underground activity after Germany’s defeat; flow of capital to neutral countries.

Dr. Scheid stated that all industrial material in France was to be evacuated to Germany immediately. From now on also German industry must realize that the war cannot be won and that it must take steps in preparation for a post-war commercial campaign. Each industrialist must make contacts and alliances with foreign firms, but this must be done individually and without attracting any suspicion. Moreover, the ground would have to be laid on the financial level for borrowing considerable sums from foreign countries after the war. As examples of the kind of penetration which had been most useful in the past, Dr. Scheid cited the fact that patents for stainless steel belonged to the Chemical Foundation, Inc., New York,

Merkel Claims Russia Must Prove Non-Involvement in Skripal Poisoning Case

Russia must prove that it has nothing with poisoning of ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in the UK city of Salisbury, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said.

Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious earlier in March on a bench at a shopping center in Salisbury, England. Both of them remain in a critical condition and are being treated for exposure to a chemical. The incident has already resulted in a diplomatic crisis in the Russian-UK relations.

“We believe that there is strong evidence that Russia is involved in that [incident] and now Russia must prove that this is not true,” Merkel said on Monday after talks with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Angela Merkel's new interior minister vows to crack down on criminal migrants and kick rejected asylum seekers out of Germany quicker

Germany's incoming interior minister has promised to 'significantly' speed up deportations of failed asylum seekers and to take a tough line against criminal migrants.

Horst Seehofer, of Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Bavarian sister party the CSU, also promised a broader 'zero-tolerance' law and order drive under their new coalition government to be launched Wednesday.

Seehofer was long the harshest critic within Merkel's conservative bloc of her decision to open Germany's borders to a mass influx of migrants since 2015.

Anti-Nazi crusader Heiko Maas to become German foreign minister

Germany's designated next foreign minister Heiko Maas is a sharp dresser with a steely edge who has become the nemesis of far-right and online giants spreading hate speech.

As justice minister for the past four years, the 51-year-old became a passionate crusader against extremists who have railed, in the streets and online, against Germany's mass influx of refugees and migrants since 2015.

A trained lawyer and passionate triathlete whose partner is a German TV actress, Maas is a relative newcomer to Berlin and has even less experience in international affairs.

He takes over the job of chief diplomat of Europe's top economy from fellow Social Democrat (SPD) Sigmar Gabriel, who has fallen out of favour with their centre-left party's new leadership.

Making Sense of the Russian 5th Generation Fighters in Syria – The Saker

The question is whether this was worth the risk?

First, amazingly enough, the reports of the Su-57 in Syria are true. Some say 2 aircraft, some say 4 (out of a current total of 13). It doesn’t really matter, what matters is that the deployment of a few Su-57s in Syria is a fact and that this represents a dramatic departure from normal Russian (and Soviet) practice.

End for Merkel? German chancellor could be finished even if she wins Sunday vote

The Social Democrats Party (SPD) is set to announce the results of its postal vote to decide whether or not to form a coalition under Mrs Merkel's control.

But just as Mrs Merkel finds out whether she will lead a new government, the entire German political system is undergoing a shake-up because of the growing importance of the Alternative for Germany party (AfD).
