License to Kill

As empires collapse, they turn inward, and subject their own populations to the same ill treatment to which they subjected others. Here, America is unexceptional: the number of Americans being murdered by their own police, with minimal repercussions for those doing the killing, is quite stunning. When Americans wonder who their enemy really is, they need look no further.

Guest Column: Boycott SodaStream for peace

A year-and-a-half ago, several residents of Cambridge, Somerville and the surrounding area began conversations with the management of TAGS Hardware in Porter Square in order to share information with the retailer about the growing international boycott of SodaStream products.

SodaStream, which manufactures home carbonation systems for sparkling beverages, has built its factory in the Jewish-only Israeli settlement Ma’aleh Adumim in the occupied West Bank, where more than 40,000 Israeli settlers live on land expropriated from several Palestinian farming villages and from Bedouin communities. The settlement, which is off-limits to Palestinians unless they obtain permits, effectively blocks Palestinians in much of the West Bank from access to Jerusalem. And, like the 120 other Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, it is deemed illegal under international law.

U.S. plan to shut down cell phones and internet in energency. Court ruled no disclosure. Flashback: U.S. condemns cell phone and internet shut down in Egypt and Syria

It seems the courts through a Freedom of information act lawsuit is standing by the U.S. government and not allowing the release of the U.S. governments plan to shut down the internet and cell phone service (plan SOP303) in times of emergencies. In other words if there was civil unrest.

The reason why the lawsuit was filed in the first place was due to when all cell phone service was cut in San Francisco during the BART unrest.

EPIC asked the court to revisit its ruling, arguing that the decision, "if left in place, would create an untethered 'national security' exemption'" in FOIA law. On Friday, the court ordered (PDF) the government to respond—a move that suggests the appellate court might rehear the case.

Authentic Journalism that Challenges Empire and Its Centers of Power

Exposing Lies of the Empire is a monumental work.

Some years back, I was approached to come up with a story that I’d really like to cover. There were many, but right away I was drawn to a story whose angle was completely marginalized in any media I had checked. I was interested to go to Zimbabwe and get a genuine impression from Zimbabweans of how they view the direction of their country under the government of Robert Mugabe. How they viewed the redistribution of land within the country.

In the case of theft, when the stolen property is recovered, the usually accepted, and rightful, custom is that the property be returned to its rightful owner(s).

Protesters in Ukrainian's Kiev call for PM resignation

Led by Ukrainian far-right groups, the protesters took the square in front of Ukrainian Parliament in a rally against endemic corruption in the government in Kiev.

The protesters demand establishment of a special parliamentary commission to investigate the corruption schemes in which they think the prime minister and his allies are involved.

The protest was triggered by the recent scandal around Prime-minister Arseniy Yatsenuk. The head of the state financial inspection Igor Gordienko accused him of covering up corruption schemes. The head of the government however, dismissed the charges.

Top Donor to Clinton Foundation (jewish) Oligarch in Ukraine

Follow the Money

Between 2009 and 2013, including when Mrs. Clinton was secretary of state, the Clinton Foundation received at least $8.6 million from the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, based in Kiev, Ukraine.

In 2008, Mr. Pinchuk made a five-year, $29 million commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative, a wing of the foundation that coordinates charitable projects and funding for them but doesn’t handle the money. The pledge was to fund a program to train future Ukrainian leaders and professionals “to modernize Ukraine,” according to the Clinton Foundation.

It said that if Mr. Pinchuk was lobbying the State Department about Ukraine, “this cannot be seen as anything but a good thing.”

Oh certainly, all you have to do is take a brief look at Ukraine to see what a wonderful thing it has been.

RAP NEWS 24: ISRAEL & PALESTINE

“America’s last taboo” Edward Said.

Decades of failed peace talks have led nowhere; but do not lose hope just yet. Join Robert Foster as he attempts to host the first ever Middle East Peace Raps, using rhyme and reason to bring together Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu, and a representative of Hamas. The picture would not be complete however, without a discussion of “America’s last taboo” (as Edward Said once referred to it): the USA’s role as Israel’s best – and only – buddy in the world (Ok, together with Australia). Featuring special cameos from prominent American Jewish scholar, Dr. Norman Finkelstein, and Palestinian rap legends, DAM, this is an episode for the ages. Join us as we bravely (or perhaps stupidly) take on one of the most bitter, divisive and controversial conflicts of our times: Israel & Palestine.

Catherine J. Frompovich

In 2008 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Legislative body passed, and then-Governor Ed Rendell signed into Pennsylvania Law – PA HB2200, which became Act 129 of 2008. All 16 U.S. Intelligence Agencies have begun to prepare for the biggest American collapse ever.

CIA Insider: “I was handed Janet Yellen’s playbook and what’s in it keeps me up at night”…

Should the contents of Janet Yellen’s playbook serve as a warning sign that something much more dangerous is approaching?

According to Jim Rickards, the CIA’s Asymmetric Warfare Advisor, the answer is yes.

In a startling interview

image: http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png
he reveals that all 16 U.S. Intelligence Agencies have begun to prepare for the biggest American collapse ever.

Making matters worse, his colleagues believe it could begin within the next 6 months.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let us say you own a business, and you hire a manager to run the business, then years later discover that this manager has not done a good job. Worse, he has been stealing from you, and lying to you to cover his tracks. So you decide to fire him, but the manager, your employee, pulls a gun on you and tells you you will not fire him, and indeed must give him a raise. That is what is happening today in the United States. The US Government, the employee of the people, has mismanaged the nation onto the edge of bankruptcy, lied to us, stolen from us, and now wants to point guns at us and tell us they should be allowed to keep their jobs, to go on stealing from us and lying to us.

John Oliver interviews Edward Snowden. U.S. citizens real concerns? They only care if their 'dick' pictures are seen by government.

June 1st the govt. votes on continuing the Patriot Act.

It is important for people to stand up for their freedoms. If we don't stand up we lose it all. We can't live in fear as the government wants us to, just so they can spy on every single person and everything we do. Understand this is not about fighting terrorism, this is about knowing everything about every single citizen.

Every citizen is considered guilty by the government and they spy on every thing we do and spend. John Oliver makes the conversation funny and shows how people are not concerned unless it involves pictures of dicks. Yes... I wrote that correctly.

Greece plans return to drachma and nationalization of banks

“We are a Left-wing government. If we have to choose between a default to the IMF or a default to our own people, it is a no-brainer,” said a senior official.

Greece is drawing up drastic plans to nationalise the country’s banking system and introduce a parallel currency to pay bills unless the eurozone takes steps to defuse the simmering crisis and soften its demands.

Sources close to the ruling Syriza party said the government is determined to keep public services running and pay pensions as funds run critically low. It may be forced to take the unprecedented step of missing a payment to the International Monetary Fund next week.

Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich: Iran Nuclear Deal Differences

U.S and Tehran disagree over Sanctions lift.

Tehran accuses the U.S. of spinning the nuclear deal.

Iran was never in violation of the NPT.

Most importantly, we must think about (upholding) the International treaties.

International treaties are being held hostage by the west.

There has been a lot of interference inside Iran by Washington. The nuclear issue is just an excuse to undermine the Islamic Republic and has very little to do with anything else.

Russia is opposed to snap back inspections and phased out sanctions.

Russia is a UN Security Council member and is present in the negotiations.

Thousands of Ukrainians Protest against the US Embassy. Media Blackout

The racist-fascist (or “nazi”) anti-Russian regime that the U.S. installed in a February 2014 coup does not permit protest (except from its small right: the few overt nazis demanding even more militancy); so, the only way that thousands of Ukrainians were safely able to express their loathing of the U.S. Embassy in Kiev on April 1st was by mooing as a non-verbal expression against the regime-controllers inside the compound, telling them, in effect, “We are not cattle.” However, at the end of the protest, someone managed to throw cow-dung at the compound.

A Trip To Ground Zero NYC 9/11 Site 14 Years Later: "Fascism Could Be Broken Apart Right Here" (Video)

My wife and I took an impromptu trip to New York City last weekend and visited ground zero for the first time since 2008. St. Paul's Episcopal Chapel is directly adjacent to the World Trade Center. The propaganda at this church was quite overwhelming- not to mention the 9/11 museum itself, which is an elaborate masterpiece of propaganda. We visited the chapel first and it was really, really something else to go into this place. I was speechless. There were people sobbing in grief throughout the place. I had a very strong emotional reaction to that place. After walking out of there, that's when it really hit me- not because I believed that "19 guys in a cave attacked America because they hate us for our freedoms," but because the level of propaganda and deception were very painful. It is difficult to put into words even now.

US Oil Celebrates Election of Former Nigerian Dictator

A massive series of NATO War Games simulations took place at the Operation Flintlock 2015 AFRICOM Conference, where thousands of US and African soldiers began intensive training programs. Yemen – the Big Picture

As usual, western media are deliberately confusing in communicating on the latest Mid-East conflict which eventually led to the recent atrocious bombing of Yemen by the US-directed Saudi alliance, including Qatar and other Gulf monarchies. Raimondo: The Iran Deal

It’s a good one – but can it survive the US Congress?

Israel has been threatening to attack Iran unilaterally for years, including during these negotiations, and they are not above launching a provocation – one that will ignite a conflict that would envelope the entire Middle East and much of the world.

As I said in my last column, the US Congress is the catch, the fly in the ointment that could nix this deal and lead us down the path to another war in the Middle East. Nothing has been signed. What we have is a framework, one that will lead to a fuller agreement in June – if Congress doesn’t step in and stop it.

Fight Dirty: How to Become a Backyard Garden Guerrilla Even If You've Never Grown a Tomato

Sometimes I think that the next Revolutionary War will take place in vegetable garden battlefields, all across America.

Instead of bullets, there will be seeds. Instead of chemical warfare, there will be rainwater, carefully collected from the gutters of the house. Instead of soldiers in body armor and helmets, there will be backyard guerrillas, with bare feet, cut-off jean shorts, and wide-brimmed hats. Instead of death, there will be life, sustained by a harvest of home-grown produce. Children will be witness to these battles, but instead of being traumatized, they will be happy, grimy, and healthy, as they learn about the miracles that take place in a little plot of land or pot of dirt.

Don't worry if you aren't trained in this kind of warfare. There's an easy way to declare your independence and become a gardening guerrilla.

Both the Arab League and the United Nations have fully transformed themselves into the ill-fated League of Nations that more than 70 years ago disgraced itself into oblivion when it failed to condemn foreign aggressions that eventually led to the cataclysm of World War Two.

As delegates gathered in Egypt’s resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh for the Arab League last weekend, nearly half of its member states were at the same time openly engaged in an aerial blitz on one of the League’s weakest countries – Yemen.

In Yemen, and Middle East, U.S. Needs to Learn When to Quit

Author’s note: The New York Times’ Room For Debate poses the question “Is Yemen America’s fight?” and asks whether the United States should be involved in regional efforts to fight the Houthis in Yemen.

Here’s my short essay on why the US has no business being there – and why Washington needs to rein in the Saudis before they embroil us all in an even bigger mess.

At the rate the Saudis are escalating, any full-on war in Yemen will cripple the entire Arabian Peninsula, and that would be a disaster for all key U.S. policy interests in the region.

Holocaust Denial Laws: Evidence Inadmissable, Defense Forbidden

In the speech, Stolz discusses her experiences as a defence lawyer for so-called Holocaust deniers in Germany, and describes the Orwellian system of state-enforced repression there which denies defendants (and their lawyers!) the right to explain themselves under threat of additional charges for the “repeat offence” of expressing a forbidden idea, even in their own defence in a court of law. Stolz further relates how the subject of the Holocaust itself has never been clearly or adequately defined by the German courts through the normal channel of judicial findings-of-fact in precedent decisions. Instead, the courts have relied on the arbitrary doctrine that the facts of the Holocaust are “self-evident” and thus in no need of proof, despite the obvious objection that the arguments of the “deniers” themselves clearly demonstrate that those facts are indeed contestable and thus cannot be “self-evident” by definition.

Activists Save Mexico From Water Privatization

The ruling party (PRI) and its allies, the National Action Party (PAN), the Partido Verde and New Alliance, were forced to back down in the Chamber of Deputies. The privatization offensive launched this time against water, will have to wait for another day—preferably for its promoters, not around elections.

Hypothetical world-ending artificial intelligence makes headlines, but the hype ignores what's happening right under our noses. Cheap, fast AI is already taking our jobs, we just haven't noticed.

Fractivists Bust Up Aquifer Exemption Workshop

We found out about this “aquifer exemption workshop” where the regulators would outline “the data requirements and process for requesting an aquifer exemption under the Safe Drinking Water Act,” so Big Oil could continue to pollute our drinking water. Californians Against Fracking, a coalition of over 200 organizations in the state, was planning to do a demonstration outside the workshop. But some of us wanted to go one step further and actually disrupt the meeting.

Who Spies for Israel in Washington’s Nuclear Negotiations?

All those Zionist ‘wise-guys’ of both genders, who think they have been so clever using their high office to serve Israel, are fooling themselves. More and more citizens are becoming aware that Israel’s espionage, its dictates to the US Congress and its manipulation of Executive powers are harming America. At the present, highly placed Zionist officials hold sway over the Obama Cabinet, but in the future they may find themselves facing charges of being agents of a foreign power, and a threat to US national security. They may find themselves sharing a cell block with Jonathan Pollard!

States tell Feds to pound sand

As Chapman law professor Ronald Rotunda noted recently, we “have come a long way towards governance by bureaucrats.” Some states, however, are taking positive steps in 2015 to thwart the effects of these unilateral — and wildly unconstitutional — acts.

The following is an overview of state legislation to thwart federal overreach that’s moving forward right now.
