Ukraine foes start troop withdrawal in war-torn east

The Ukrainian army and Moscow-backed separatists on Saturday launched the last phase of a troop pullback ahead of a high-stakes summit with Russia.

The long-awaited withdrawal of troops in the conflict-riven Donetsk and Lugansk regions is a precondition for the first face-to-face talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Paris summit, whose date has yet to be confirmed, will be mediated by the leaders of France and Germany.

Pentagon’s East Syria Operation About More Than Taking the Oil

Whether to control the oil or flat out take the oil, US statements on the new military mission in Syria are heavily oil-themed. Other reports, however, suggest that the operation is a lot more complicated than that.

In reality, a lot of the goal is nation-building, with US forces meant to both keep the Syrian government out of this part of Syria, and try to “bring prosperity” to the region, propping up a potential territory of rebels.

This is again built around the assumption that the US can manufacture an autonomous, prosperous region, using the oilfields as the revenue source, and then steer that region toward hostility with the rest of Syria.

This will likely end up being a plan easier for the Trump Administration to sell than overt theft of oil, as it allows the US to retain its primary focus, military hostility toward Syria with an eye toward eventual regime change.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) to those in the Pentagon who actually believe that this is a reasonable, logical way of moving forward in Syria; I really don't know if you need a hug, some calcium magnesium; some milk and a happy-ending bedtime story, or at least one American, a Christian pacifist activist, who never encourages violence (folks, that's me) to gently suggest to you that such an approach is completely, as in barking-dog mad, rubber-room-esque insane.

What homogeneous group are you going to give this region to, now that the Kurds have pledged fealty to the Syrian government?!?

The Kurds’ commander in chief explains why his forces are finally ready to partner with Assad and Putin.

My big question is, how long Russia's Putin will be willing to put up with this foolishness before Russian (plus Kurdish plus Syrian) troops uncork on US positions in Syria?!?

And folks, for me, that is the ultimate nightmare scenario. The two headlines right under this at antiwar.com, give me no comfort on this issue either.

Pentagon Claims US Authority to Shoot Any Syrian Govt Official Who Tries to Take Control of Syrian Oil and the headline under this, Erdogan: Turkey Won’t Leave Syria Until Every Other Country Does: Says Turkey will not let up on offensive against Kurdish militants

Does the US position here even remotely resemble a reasonable, sane, responsible, and moral moment of conflict resolution?!?

The short answer, of course, is: HELL, NO!!!

US Claims Iran Preparing ‘Nuclear Breakout: Pompeo demands world powers act against Iran

Iran restarted enrichment at the underground Fordow site overnight on Wednesday, and on Thursday US officials were accusing Iran of preparing a “nuclear breakout” situation the international community must unite against.

The concept of the “nuclear breakout” has always been ill-defined, but rests on the notion that at some point Iran would have such a substantial civilian nuclear program that it would be tantamount to an irreversible military program. Though it’s not clear that’s even theoretically possible, as nations like Canada and Japan have never been accused of approaching a “breakout” despite huge nuclear programs, attaching the label to Iran has been popular with US hawks and Israel.

The breakout idea is meant to push a narrative in which action, presumably a war, needs to be launched quickly. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo took the lead in urging other world powers to do something to force Iran back into compliance with the P5+1 deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh)Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike; please who rescinded their agreement to the PO5 +1 agreement, initially?!? Are you having a hard time remembering this, and would you like something approximating rational logic with which you can examine Iran's reasons for doing what it is doing?!?, as you look at this situation?

Well, sir, perhaps not, given your recent penchant for hubristic tirades about everything, but let me brake it down for you, if you are having a problem.

On May 8th, 2018, President Trump rescinded US support for the P5 + 1 agreement, and dropped out of the agreement.

It’s official: President Trump is pulling the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal.

This was, of course, premised on statements made by then-Israeli Premier, who , of course, charged, Iran with "having lied" about its nuclear program (as if Netanyahu was not always lying, or, equivocating on Israel's nuclear program; I smell some very choice A, bovine excrement about to hit the ventilation shaft, but let's see what Netanyahu had to say back in April 2018 on this): Netanyahu/Israel says IOran lied on nuclear arms, and pressures the US to scrap the deal

The article goes on to state: " Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled on Monday what he said was evidence of a secret Iranian nuclear weapons program that could step up pressure on the United States to pull out of a 2015 nuclear deal with Iran."

"U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the information showed that Iran’s leaders lied to their people about a nuclear weapons program known as “Project Amad”. But Pompeo declined to say whether the documents provided evidence of a violation of the nuclear deal."

Intelligence experts and diplomats said Netanyahu’s presentation, in a prime-time television presentation, did not seem to have a “smoking gun” showing a violation by Iran but it could strengthen the hand of advisers to U.S. President Donald Trump who want to scrap the nuclear agreement.

Which was why this j'accuse/dossier was created in the first place.

Most of the purported evidence Netanyahu presented dated to the period before the 2015 accord was signed, although he said Iran had also kept important files on nuclear technology since then, and continued adding to its “nuclear weapons knowledge”.

None of the foregoing was strong enough actually be considered "real evidence"; we are looking at hearsay; half-truths; and material allegedly documenting some of Iran's nuclear programs which were developed way before the 2015 Agreement.

So Secretary of State Pompeo, I have (shudder, sir, here it comes) a logical question; if the US has rescinded its support for the P5 +1 deal, why should Iran abide by it?!? Forgive me, Secretary, but where is the logic, the quid pro quo in this threat against Iran?!?

The short answer, sir, is that there is no logic in the US's position that Iran should observe the treaty, while the US has withdrawn from it; sorry, but it makes absolutely zero sense to thinking people.

And Secretary Pompeo, I would respectfully suggest, that if the US government is thinking about a war against Iran, including a decap-strike against Tehran, that perhaps they should just suck it up, and not do it.

The reason I am making this statement, is the reality that one of Russia's top officials, last June, which made the observation that if Iran is attacked by the US, that Russia would come to its aid.

Iran won't be a lone if the US Attacks, Russian Official Says. This promise was made to Iran by Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, said at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow.

And trust me, Sec Def Pompeo; this man hardly inhales air, before Putin tells him it is OK to exhale.

Russia Will Build Its Own 'Detailed and Reliable' Version of Wikipedia by 2023

Russia is aiming to roll out an online encyclopedia in three years with a readership five times the size of Wikipedia’s, the RBC news website reported Wednesday, citing procurement documents.

Russia has been planning to create its own version of Wikipedia to ensure Russians have access to more "detailed and reliable" information about their country since as far back as 2014. Russia previously attempted to block Wikipedia over an article containing instructions on how to prepare a type of cannabis drug.

At auction: Putin’s executive order to take Crimea from Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s controversial 2014 decree that cleared the way for the annexation of Crimea from Ukraine, which still draws international outrage, is going on the auction block.

The personally signed order tucked neatly into an ornate leather binder could bring as much as $8,000-$10,000, according to Alexander Historical Auctions, hosting the online auction Nov. 19-21.

Alexander Auctions President Bill Panagopulos described his unusual item this way:

An historic modern Russian document with repercussions still affecting the world today, Vladimir Putin's executive order creating the Ministry of Crimean Affairs and integrating the economic, financial, credit and legal systems of the Crimea with that of the Russian Federation. Putin essentially inextricably merges Crimea's economy and courts with those of Russia, making any future return of Crimea to Ukraine nearly impossible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sign) Paul, Paul, Paul, the author of this piece of codswallop, were we having one hell of a case of SMD (selective memory disorder) before you" put this ripe tripe to bed?!?"

Apparently, you are choosing NOT to remember the following, and I would bet that your inner two year old is about to have a raging temper tantrum, because of the following FACTS, Paul:

FACT: Washngton was behind the coup in 2014, and Obama admits that there was a US-brokered deal in support of regime change

FACT: post-putch which put Poroshenko in charge of Ukraine in 2014, the Crimeans smelled "foul" as they knew the "election" was a regime change writ large, and that no semblance of justice could ever come out of Kiev again with that corrupt bunch which had grabbed the gonads of power here.

So what did the Crimean people do, Paul?!? And why the hell did you not know this, or ar you choosing not to mention this, because it does not fit your, and the Deep State's "agenda" here?!?

They did two things, Paul; FACT: the Crimeans held a referendum to determine if they wanted to stay with Ukraine post-putsch, or petition the Russian Federation to join it. Overwhelmingly, they voted to leave Ukraine, and petition the Russian Federation. 2014:
Crimean status Referendum

Paul, I don't get it; you are supposed to be some kind of arbiter of truth, as a journalist; not a mole for the deep state; and if this information was available to me with a cursory search on line, my question is, WHY WAS IT NOT AVAILABLE TO YOU?!?

No, Paul; you are either intellectually lazy beyond belief, or paid very well to lie to the American people, or both.

And that last, nearly nearly breathlessly hysterical paragraph I cited, made it look like what Russia did here, was an horrendously bad thing to do, when this is precisely what the Crimean people wanted Putin, and Russia to do.

And has your MONSTER case of SMD caused you to conveniently forget, that both Russia and the US are signatories to the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights which includes peaceful self-determination as one of its cornerstones, which is precisely what Crimea did here, with its referendum, and petition to the Russian Federation for membership?!?

So, given your proclivities to always want to characterize Russia as "bad and wrong", will your next move be to "encourage" President Trump to rescind the US's membership in the UN?!?

Sir, you either deliberately got this hellaciously wrong, or you didn't have a clue; in either case, this article is nothing more than a vehicle for propping up the agenda that "Russia is Always Bad!!". an agenda, which cannot be supported by the facts of this case.

Testimony bombshell: Obama administration tried to partner with Hunter Biden’s Ukrainian gas firm but was blocked over corruption concerns

A State Department official who served in the U.S. embassy in Kiev told Congress that the Obama administration tried in 2016 to partner with the Ukrainian gas firm that employed Hunter Biden but the project was blocked over corruption concerns.

George Kent, the former charge d’affair at the Kiev embassy, said in testimony released Thursday that the State Department’s main foreign aid agency, known as USAID, planned to co-sponsor a clean energy project with Burisma Holdings, the Ukrainian gas firm that employed Hunter Biden as a board member.

At the time of the proposed project, Burisma was under investigation in Ukraine for alleged corruption. Those cases were settled in late 2016 and early 2017. Burisma contested allegations of corruption but paid a penalty for tax issues.

Former US Diplomat Calls on Washington to Review Status of Crimea

- Former US diplomat Dennis Ortblad has called on Washington to reconsider sanctions against Russia as well as its position on Crimea with the aim of improving relations with Russia.

"We need to deal with Russia as it is, not as we wish it to be. And our enemy is not Russia", Ortblad wrote in a Tuesday article for The National Interest magazine.
According to the ex-diplomat, Washington should first and foremost change its stance on Crimea's status so that it can review its sanction policy against Russia.

"To recalibrate our sanctions, we must recognise that Crimea will remain Russian. Its population was always heavily Russian ... Crimeans identify with the historic struggles of Russia against invasion from the West ... It was clear to us [during the recent visit to Sevastopol] that the people of Crimea would not relinquish their pride in their traditional Russian identity to accept a return to Ukraine", he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Finally, someone who understands this correctly.

I doubt like heck that this is going to make any change in the US position on Crimea, as that is another "justification" for sanctions against Russia; that being said, however, I would like to hope that what this man has to say, can start being treated as a decent starting point for re-setting US/Russia relations down the road.

‘Crucial’ Israeli missile technology handed to Russia by Syria forces

A crucial element of Israel’s defence system is at risk of becoming compromised after its advanced surface-to-air interceptor missile known as “David’s Sling” was found intact by Syrian forces and handed to the Russians to reverse engineer the technology.

Israeli sources reported that missiles fired in 2018 during what is believed to be its first known operational use, landed intact inside Syrian territory. One of the interceptor missiles failed to strike its target and another fell inside Syria. The interceptor landed intact in Syria and is believed to have been swiftly recovered by Syrian military forces and handed over to the Russians.

It’s reported that both Israel and the US asked Russia to return the missile, but there is no confirmation that the request has been met by Moscow.

TRUMP OKS WIDER SYRIA OIL MISSION, RAISING LEGAL QUESTIONS

Legal questions. That’s hilarious.

I just want to remember the good old days, when they felt the need to dazzle us with yellow cake uranium fraud before they stole the oil.

Via: Military Times – AP:

President Donald Trump has approved an expanded military mission to secure an expanse of oil fields across eastern Syria, raising a number of difficult legal questions about whether U.S. troops can launch strikes against Syrian, Russian or other forces if they threaten the oil, U.S. officials said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know how many international treaties, to which the US is also a signatory, the US government has breached by taking this position, that they have every full, and legal right to control and sell Syria's oil, but I am betting that the number is potentially staggering.

My near-bet would be on Israel staging an horrendous false flag, causing many US service members to be killed or maimed for life, to be blamed on both Russia and Syria.

At that point, Trump will have his alleged "justification" for a war against both Syria and Russia; but Mr. President, if you allow yourself to be cornered into taking this action, it will be one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly idiotic things you could possibly do at this time.

I would like to suggest a scenario which has probably been war-gamed to death by the IDF, but let us look at the following; if Russia, the US, Iran, and Saudi Arabia are in hot conflicts around the world, and become broken by the conflicts, militarily and monetarily, who potentially gets control of the Mid-eastern oil, and I mean, all of it, once the dust settles?!?

Israel.

Mr. President, please do not consider Bibi Netanyahu your friend; at best, he, and Tel Aviv, are more like Frenemies.

Knock Knock. Who's There? Rightful Owner! Syrian Army Reportedly Reclaims Long Lost Oil Field

The majority of the country's oil fields are currently controlled by the US military, illegally stationed in the Arab Republic, and the Kurdish militia. Washington recently reaffirmed its intentions to "keep" the Syrian oil, despite objections from Moscow.

The Syrian Army started deploying its forces near the city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria, and specifically near the village of Mulla Abbas, claiming the Rumailan oilfield, which was lost to Damascus several years ago, during the civil war, SANA news agency reported. The area is located on the Turkish-Syrian border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This illegal commandeering of Syria's oil fields by the US, may well mean that the current administration has its eyes on a shooting war with Russia over Syria's oil.

And if the US doesn't seem to be "aggressive enough" in its posture to suit its parasitic client state in the Middle East, (Israel) I am very certain that Israel's Shin Bet, would be delighted to create a false flag for us, insuring the deaths and woundings of many American service members, in order to "get the American people on board" for a nasty war against Russia.

And please remember; just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for this administration to do, is utterly no guarantee that it won't do it.

US Constructing Two New Bases In Syria's Oil-Rich Region: Report

Turkey's state-run media is reporting the United States is planning two new military bases in Syria's oil-rich Deir ez-Zor province, which are currently under construction, after US special forces convoys were seen patrolling the area in the past days.

Anadolu Agency, citing local sources, said the bases were under construction as evidenced by the influx of heavy equipment:

While the footage captured by Anadolu Agency showed that much construction equipment is being put into action, it was learnt the U.S. has sent 250 to 300 additional soldiers, armored vehicles, heavy weapons and ammunition to the region.

The reported added: “The military bases are being built in the 113th Brigade area and near al-Sur region,” according to the sources.

Syria's largest oil fields, which historically account for most of its domestic energy needs, are located in Deir Ezzor, including Al-Omar, Conoco, and Rumeilan.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF these reports are true, it appears that the US government is "digging down" against potential Russian attacks against US facilities.

Folks, we are headed, unfortunately toward a wild geopolitical ride, potentially including a shooting war with Russia over Syria, courtesy of this administration.

This would not be a bad time to make sure you have extra storable food; extra meds for yourself and your family; and potable water.

Russia not joking: Unmatched hypersonic & laser weapons to be supplied to the military, Putin assures commanders

Russia won’t stop boosting its defensive capabilities with state-of-the-art weaponry, but it doesn’t mean that it’s going to threaten other countries with it, Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said.

“Hypersonic, laser and other state-of-the-art weapon systems, which no other country possesses, will be put in service,” Putin promised as he met with newly assigned military commanders and prosecutors at the Kremlin.

However, those futuristic arms “are no excuse for Russia to threaten anybody,” he pointed out.

"On the contrary, we are ready to do everything in our power to promote the disarmament process in view of our latest weapon systems, which are developed with the sole purpose of guaranteeing security in the face of growing threats we face."

China Breaks the Western Debt Stranglehold on the World

The west has colonized, exploited, ravaged and assassinated the people of the Global South for hundreds of years.
Up to the mid-20th Century Europe has occupied Africa, and large parts of Asia.

Latin America is waking up – and so is Africa.

In Latin America, street protests against the US / IMF imposed debt trap and the consequential austerity programs, making the rich richer and the poor poorer, are raging in Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina and even in Brazil. In Argentina,In Latin America, though much of the sub-Continent was “freed” from Spain and Portugal in the 19th Century – a new kind of colonization followed by the new Empire of the United States – under the so-called Monroe Doctrine, named after President James Monroe (1817 -1825), forbidding Europeans to interfere in any “American territory”. Latin America was then and is again today considered Washington’s Backyard.

Aegis makes submarines more important than ever

On October 29th, the Norwegian news-outlet NRK broke the story that between 8 and 10 Russian submarines, including Sierra II class submarines, had begun naval exercises in the North Atlantic. This is one of the largest Russian naval exercises focused on submarine-warfare since the end of the cold war. It is likely that one of the core purposes of this exercise is to test the stealth-capability of the Russian subs, and of NATO forces’ abilities to track them as they push through the Greenland-Iceland-United Kingdom gap (abbreviated “GUIK-gap”), a closely monitored strategic bottleneck. The Sierra II class sub has a titanium hull, enabling it to submerge to greater depths than steel-hulled submarines, and it is also much quieter than most other submarines.

Hunter Biden’s Ukraine gas firm pressed Obama administration to end corruption allegations, memos show

Hunter Biden and his Ukrainian gas firm colleagues had multiple contacts with the Obama State Department during the 2016 election cycle, including one just a month before Vice President Joe Biden forced Ukraine to fire the prosecutor investigating his son’s company for corruption, newly released memos show.

During that February 2016 contact, a U.S. representative for Burisma Holdings sought a meeting with Undersecretary of State Catherine A. Novelli to discuss ending the corruption allegations against the Ukrainian firm where Hunter Biden worked as a board member, according to memos obtained under a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit. (I filed that suit this summer with the help of the public interest law firm the Southeastern Legal Foundation.)

Rebuilding Syria... Without Syria's Oil?

Compare US pillaging with Russia-Iran-Turkey’s active involvement in a political solution to normalize Syria..

What happened in Geneva this Wednesday, in terms of finally bringing peace to Syria, could not be more significant: the first session of the Syrian Constitutional Committee.

The Syrian Constitutional Committee sprang out of a resolution passed in January 2018 in Sochi, Russia, by a body called the Syrian National Dialogue Congress.

The 150-strong committee breaks down as 50 members of the Syrian opposition, 50 representing the government in Damascus and 50 representatives of civil society. Each group named 15 experts for the meetings in Geneva, held behind closed doors.

This development is a direct consequence of the laborious Astana process – articulated by Russia, Iran and Turkey. Essential initial input came from former UN Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura. Now UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen is working as a sort of mediator.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This development has been conveniently left out of nearly all accounts in the West of what is going on in Syria, and yet, is one of the most significant developments of the last year.

The Real US Mission in Syria

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

US involvement in Syria has nothing to do with regional peace, stability and security, nothing to do with combating ISIS.

It’s all about killing a nation, destroying its sovereignty, partitioning it for easier control, removing its legitimate leadership, installing puppet rule, plundering it, exploiting its people, eliminating an Israeli rival, isolating Iran, and enriching the US military, industrial, security complex from endless aggression.

No Ceasefire/Ceasefire in Northern Syria. The Pentagon Will Use Overwhelming Force to Maintain US Control over Syrian Oil

rom one or more illegally established airbases in Syria, as well as other other regional ones, Pentagon warplanes, attack helicopters, and drones continue terror-bombing Syrian sites at the discretion of its commanders.

US troops still occupy large parts of northern and southern Syrian territory indefinitely, including oil producing areas — looting them for private and CIA profiteering, as well as wanting Damascus denied revenues from its own resources. That’s what grand theft is all about.

All of the above are war crimes as defined under the UN Charter and other international law. The US and its imperial partners remain unaccountable for crimes of war and against humanity in all their war theaters.

The same goes for US economic terrorism against Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba, and other countries — high crimes gone unpunished.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There are moments when I absolutely do not recognise the country of my birth; it appears that every ethical, reasonable, and moral qualities which made the US a good place to live, and a good neighbor to have, internationally, have been abandoned by this Government, and for quite some time now.

The American people are no longer in any kind of even symbolic control of their government; their government has morphed into some kind of a hydra-headed monster, feeding the unending, death-and bearing appetites of its military industrial complex, while telling what is left of Middle Class America, that they must do with less, so the government can have more.

Laughter Over the Left Shoulder at Russia’s TragedyThe West is trying to undermine Russia’s historic achievements by demeaning and vilifying its people, culture, religion, and way of life. Why?

But the real irritant is that Russia will not bow down to Western dictates. The very fact that Western sanctions have not crippled and destroyed Russia makes Western leaders irate. In a surprising, though understandable way, the sanctions have helped the Russian home-grown production of goods to flourish. After all, Russia must make its own decisions for the survival of its people. It is the West’s growing irrelevance to Russia, which it itself caused, that enrages its governments.

RUSSIA CLAIMS U.S. WILL SMUGGLE $30 MILLION OF OIL OUT OF SYRIA EVERY MONTH UNDER TRUMP'S 'CRIMINAL' PLAN

Russia's foreign ministry spokesperson has accused the U.S. of "criminal activity" with regards to President Donald Trump's plan to deploy troops to guard oil fields in eastern Syria.

Maria Zakharova said Friday that the Trump administration was engaging in illegal smuggling, and estimated Washington stands to make tens of millions of dollars every month from the oil extracted in the region.

According to state news agency Tass, Zakharova said the U.S. was "bypassing its own sanctions" to take the oil—"worth over $30 million per month"—from Syria. She also suggested the U.S. forces deployed "are not going to leave these areas in the near future."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think that the Russian estimate, may be just a little too conservative.

But the on-going question, and one which I hope is keeping at least a few of our people in power in Foggy Bottom is, just how long is Russia going to allow this to continue, before it uncorks with its own military response to kick the US out of Syria?!?

SOURCE: MOON OF ALABAMA
Ukrainegate is the new Russiagate. The 'whistleblower complain' is the new 'dirty dossier'. The 'former' MI6 spy Christopher Steele wrote the dossier. The current CIA spy Eric Ciaramella wrote the 'complain':

Federal documents reveal that the 33-year-old Ciaramella, a registered Democrat held over from the Obama White House, previously worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan, a vocal critic of Trump who helped initiate the Russia “collusion” investigation of the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.
Further, Ciaramella (pronounced char-a-MEL-ah) left his National Security Council posting in the White House’s West Wing in mid-2017 amid concerns about negative leaks to the media. He has since returned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.

“He was accused of working against Trump and leaking against Trump,” said a former NSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

Trump Slides an American Foot in the Door in Syria: In a shocking reversal in Syria, President Trump has ordered the US military to occupy the oil field at Deir Ez Zor, in eastern Syria.

The US occupation of the oil production facility at Deir Ez Zor is strategic for the US, and EU foreign policy on Syria, which depends on sanctions to keep the Syrian civilians and government from importing any necessary supplies to repair and re-build Syria, now that the war is over. Syrians are prevented from importing oil due to the sanctions, and without oil, the country cannot re-build. If the Syrian oil production facilities were to be in the hands of the legal owners, the Syrian Ministry of Oil, then repairs could be carried out and Syria would no longer need to import oil, and they could go back to being energy sufficient, as they were before 2011.

Russian Defense Ministry, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov spoke about satellite images in Syria which show the extent of past US involvement in the oil smuggling business, which was conducted with the Kurds using a US company “Sadcab”, and the profits were funneled through US private military contractors.

Putin pledges to 'do everything to protect Christians in the Middle East'

Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged to protect Christians threatened by the conflict in Syria, appealing to the plight of religious minorities as justification for Russia's involvement.

After a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Wednesday, Putin expressed sorrow over the persecution experienced by Christians in the Middle East, according to the Associated Press. Russian leaders have worked to develop close ties with Syria's Christian communities. Melkite Catholic Archbishop Jean-Clement Jeanbart has called Russia's intervention in the country a source of "hope for the country's Christians.

"The Middle East is the cradle of Christianity, and Christians are in peril there, facing persecution, being killed, raped, and robbed," said Putin. "Russia will do everything to protect Christians in the Middle East. We must help them restore and preserve their holy sites, preserve their congregations."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I felt obligated to present the following, upon having read the above:

Trump aims to protect persecuted Christians, but some aren't sure he's helping The article goes on to state:

' an increasingly vocal band of advocates and experts says the Trump administration’s policies have failed to address many of the challenges faced by Christians, Yazidis and other religious minorities abroad — especially those in the Middle East. Some argue the administration’s efforts to scale back refugee resettlement, deport Chaldean Christians living in the United States and potentially end temporary protected status for Syrians have only made their situation worse.

“I can tell you they feel completely abandoned,” Philippe Nassif, Amnesty International’s advocacy director for the Middle East and North Africa and former executive director of the advocacy group In Defense of Christians, told Religion News Service. “They feel ignored, and in some cases, they feel used.”

Many critics point to the administration’s decision to reduce the number of refugees allowed into the United States from 110,000 under President Obama to 45,000 shortly after Trump took office. Trump later reduced the cap to 30,000 people — the lowest since the refugee resettlement program started in the 1980s — and White House officials are now reportedly mulling eliminating refugee resettlement altogether.

The reductions have sparked outrage among the nine nonprofit groups that help the government resettle refugees, six of which are faith-based."

I would have hoped, than when President Trump made those statements about protecting persecuted religious minorities in the the Middle East, that he was at least half-way serious about doing so; unfortunately, current events with these issues, do not augur well for these promises to be kept.

Right now, I would characterize his statements as coming from a "language of convenience", to get out the way of any criticisms he may be facing, both by his boosters, and his detractors.

Baghdadi raid video released as US general warns of Isis reprisal attacks: General Kenneth McKenzie says Isis will remain a threat as he shows footage of raid on leader’s Syria hideout

McKenzie said the US was under no illusions it had destroyed Isis, and warned the group would try to take revenge.

“They will be dangerous. We suspect they will try some form of retribution attack,” he said. “We don’t see a bloodless future because unfortunately this ideology is going to be out there.”

However McKenzie predicted that the campaign against Baghdadi would grind down Isis capabilities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... And if ISIS doesn't provide a "retribution attack", one can be reasonably certain that the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika has something to cobble together to make it appear that ISIS has done a "retribution attack" against US forces in Syria, causing the US, of course, to have to bring in "yet more "troops and equipment" with which to "guard" (translation: steal) Syria's oil.

And were I a betting woman, I would suggest that such an attack may well happen sooner, rather than later, before the American public, with their intense, collective, and raging case of ADHD, forgets that it was US forces who finally "felled Al-Baghdadi" in Syria.

And would someone, still in their right mind, from this madness, explain to me what the hell we are still doing in Syria?!?

Were we invited by the Syrian Government?!? Uh....no.

Were we invited in by the Russian Government, assisting the Al Assad Presidency in fighting the US trained and equipped jihadis, who were desperately trying to take out his government?!? Uh.....no.

So folks, here is the butt-ugly truth of this situation; the Trump Regime has ordered our military to invade a sovereign country, with which the US government is not at all, technically, in any degree of war against, and it has decided that stealing, and selling, Syrian oil is the highest of all possible actions we can take here, while also protecting Israel's "divine right" to squash any alleged "Iranian forces" it imagines/believes are in the country, as they see fit.

What's wrong with this picture?!? Why, absolutely nothing, if putting US troops into harm's way for no lawful, legal purpose, and wanting to engender unending war in the region are this government's goals, there is absolutely nothing wrong here; nothing to see; just don't pay attention.

But I just have to wonder how long Russia's Putin will allow this nonsense to fester, before making it crystal clear that US troops will have to vacate Syria, and permanently.

And please remember; just because a scenario is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing President Trump could do right now, like ordering our troops to attempt to clobber Russia in Syria for its oil, is utterly no guarantee that he will not do it; God only knows, he needs some distraction from the "Impeachment Frenzy", which culminated yesterday (Halloween) in the passage of the the Dementocrat's ginned-up rules for presenting evidence in this process.

Mr. President, I must strongly caution you; please don't do this, as in sending our troops to fight both Russian and Syrian troops for Syria's oil; this would be a really bad choice, sir, one one that would permanently, even further, stain the reputation of this country as a force for good, and for peace.

Russia orders extra Soyuz manned spacecraft as NASA replacements wallow in uncertainty

Some additional manned Soyuz missions are being prepared after NASA requested extra rides to the International Space Station (ISS), amid uncertainties surrounding US-made manned vehicles, Russia’s space chief has announced.

According to Dmitry Rogozin, his NASA counterpart Jim Bridenstine has asked Moscow to allocate extra rides on board its Soyuz spacecraft and Russia has made some adjustments to provide for the US need. Some of the planed Soyuz missions will have mixed crews rather than Russian-only, he said. Roscosmos, the Russian space agency, has also ordered two additional Soyuz capsules, one of which may be needed to meet NASA’s logistical demand.

Fake Narratives as Cover For High Crimes

Western stories about Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi are meant to confuse, to distract, and to strengthen fake narratives.

First, the West supports Daesh in Syria (and beyond). It isn’t a secret.

Finally, it fortifies the fake “War on Terror” myth which inverts the truth, which is that the West supports terrorism in all its forms as it commits war crimes as policy.

The political spectacles, the transparent war lies, the fake narratives, obscure foundational issues. The Right to Self-Determination is foundational to International Law.

Syria has every right to take any and all necessary measures to regain ITS OWN OIL FIELDS. Washington has ZERO rights to steal the oil.Second, it provides a distraction from what is really happening in Syria. Whereas the West has been destroying Syria and stealing its resources throughout the war, now Washington is basically admitting that it is stealing Syrian resources.

US Military Envisions Broad Defense of Syrian Oilfields: Esper says US will keep Syrian government away from Syrian oil.

The Pentagon intends to retain control of Syria’s oilfields going forward, and says they will repel anyone else trying to take that oil with “overwhelming force.” This has become the chief, and materially only, military goal of the US military operation in Syria.

Since President Trump announced his intention to control the oil, and conceivably to try to take some of it on behalf of the US, the Pentagon has been revising the Syria mission around controlling the oil. This has included sending more troops and tanks.

Pentagon officials have tried to build this narrative around keeping ISIS from reclaiming the oilfields, since they held them once. With ISIS barely existing anymore, that’s not a realistic threat, and Defense Secretary Mark Esper conceded on Monday that the deployments of US forces are meant to “deny access” to the oil to either Russia or the Syrian government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Esper and President Trump, a word, please: have you collectively gone barking mad, to have made this statement>?!?

This.... is brigandry writ large, and completely against all logic, and all international norms. I don't know how many international treaties we are ditching by doing this, but I would almost bet, quite a few.

And Mr. President, now long do you think you have before Putin makes a decision that the theft of Syrian oil will not be allowed to stand, after taking such care to bring a positive outcome to Bashir Al-Assad;'s government, against US trained, armed, and funded jihadis?!?

Mr. President, I am no politician; just a composer with a little bit of logic.

I don't know who is advising you on this issue, but all the legalistic codswallop they have been feeding you, to justify the unjustifiable, is nothing short of thoroughly, as in soft rubber-room to prevent self-harm, insane.

I would very much like you to reconsider this, Mr. President; at this point in our military's existence, we don't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia over Syria's oil.

Please; the naked irrationality of this act, gives the US government the well-deserved moniker "unhinged"; and I feel that I must strongly caution you, that if you push Russia hard enough, I can almost guarantee you a push back; can that really be the design objective of this lunatic move?!?

War with Russia over Syria's oil?!? Let's not go there.

‘Arrogant & illegal’: Lavrov denounces US military’s oil moves in Syria at Russian-Turkish-Iranian press event

The US was “arrogant” to send its troops to guard oilfields in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said, adding that it remains unclear from whom the installations need to be protected.

The actions of the Americans in Syria violate international law, as their presence in the country is “illegal,” Lavrov reiterated, appearing alongside his Iranian and Turkish counterparts at a press-conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

Russia casts doubt on US operation to kill Baghdadi

The Ministry of Defence in Moscow has expressed doubts about US President Donald Trump’s announcement on Sunday that Daesh leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was killed in a “daring night-time raid” in north-west Syria. Trump went on to thank Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq for their support.

“We are unaware of any alleged assistance to US aircraft using the airspace of the Idlib de-escalation zone during this operation,” Major-General Igor Konashenkov told state-run RIA news agency.

Konashenkov referred to the previous claims that Al-Baghdadi had been killed. He described the latest raid as “yet another ‘elimination’ of the former Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in the Turkish-controlled part of the Idlib de-escalation zone.”

The Strange Case of Baghdadi, Was He the Jewish Head of a Mossad Run ISIS?

One might assert that accusing Israel of training agents to infiltrate Arab organizations is “anti-Semitic” with this exception, they admit that not only do they do it all the time, but that this is a primary Mossad purpose.

Israeli operatives fill the ranks of Hamas and Hezbollah, ISIS and al Qaeda. In some cases dozens have been executed but, as had come to the surface in 2014, one stood out above the rest, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi or has he had been exposed, Shimon Elliot.

The Russian military on Sunday questioned the official US account of the military raid that killed al-Baghdadi, saying it was not aware of any US military operations in the region.

Military Situation In Syria On October 28, 2019 (Map Update)

A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:

Units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are withdrawing from the border with Turkey in accordance with the Russian-Turkish agreement;
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has deployed on the Turkish border, east of Ras al-Ayn;
A new Russian military convoy was spotted in the town of Tell Tamr;
A US-led coalition strike allegedly eliminated ISIS spokesman Abul-Hasan al-Muhajir in the village of Ein al-Baydah;
Another US convoy entered Syria en route to the Omar oil fields.

U.S. Is Looting Syrian Oil Fields To Fund Mercenaries And Intelligence Operations

Absolutely all hydrocarbon accumulations and other mineral resources located on the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic do not belong to the IS terrorists, and definitely not to the “American defenders from IS terrorists”, but exclusively to the Syrian Arab Republic.

Neither in international law, nor in American law itself — there has never been and there will never be a single legitimate task for the American troops — to protect and defend the hydrocarbon accumulations of Syria from Syria itself and its people.

Therefore, what Washington is doing now, the seizure and armed control of oil fields in Eastern Syria, is, put it simply, an international state banditry.

Is the ‘Greater Albania’ Project Aimed Against Russia in the Balkans?

A project for Greater Albania – conspiracy or legitimate? According to a 2010 Gallup Balkan Monitor report, 83% of Albanians in Albania supported the idea of a Greater Albania, with 81% and 53% of Albanians in Kosovo and North Macedonia respectively supporting such an ambition.

The ultimate goal? To have Kosovo and the Preševo Valley in Serbia, southern Montenegro, Epirus in Greece and western North Macedonia into a single Greater Albanian state. Although this may not be official policy of the Albanian Republic, it is ingrained into the Albanian mythos. The very idea of a Greater Albania has roots in the 1913 Treaty of London that left roughly 40% of the Albanian population outside the newly established Albanian country. This has been something that the U.S. could weaponize against Russian influence in the Balkans.

US TRIES TO REVERSE SYRIAN FORTUNES WITH “BAGHDADI RAID”

SOURCE: NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK

Timing is Everything

The supposed military operation – unfolding just miles from the Syrian-Turkish border – comes at a time when the prospects of America’s proxy war in Syria have reached all time lows.

First – US proxy forces jointly armed and aided by Turkey as well as other US allies – have been all but eliminated from the battlefield with their remnants residing in Idlib, increasingly encircled by Syrian forces.

Attempts by the US to intervene in Syria directly to oversee the overthrow of the government in Damascus was also thwarted by Russia’s military intervention beginning in 2015.

TRUMP’S PLAN TO TAKE SYRIAN OIL SLAMMED AS ‘CLEAR VIOLATION OF INTERNATIONAL LAW’ AND ‘IMPERIAL LOOTING’

President Donald Trump announced plans to violate several longstanding tenets of international law on Sunday morning during a controversial press conference celebrating the death of Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, legal experts say.

“We are leaving soldiers to secure the oil,” Trump said. “And we may have to fight for the oil. Maybe somebody else wants the oil, in which case they have a hell of a fight.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) To the legal-eagle minions surrounding President Trump who have advised him that this is a completely reasonable; lawful; and moral; why the hell are you feeding the man this codswallop that this is a perfectly legal thing to do, under international law?!?

Can Trump's real supporters who actually care about Trump's "legacy" as President, PLEASE, gently remove these people from Trump's presence, and put them into the " Rubber Room Wing" of the White House (it's GOT to have one, by now), feed them brilliantly, keep them comfortable and healthy, but primarily safe from expounding upon any position on international law for, oh...let's say... the next one hundred years or so?!?

Because my big question on this planned US move, is to ask Russia's President Putin and Foreign Minister Lavrov, precisely what they are going to do about this, to disabuse President Trump from this notion that it is perfectly swell to do this to a sovereign country with which we are not (at the moment) at war?!?

Lord, PLEASE tell me that Trump is not ready to march into Syria for its oil, only to encounter a shooting war with the Russians; the US military does not have the money; the manufacturing; the weaponry; or the troop strength, to bring a successful outcome to a conventional war with Russia over Syria's oil.

FLASHBACK: “Oh Boy, You Really Killed Me This Time” Confirms ISIS Leader

ISLAMIC STATE leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has congratulated allied forces for a coordinated air strike in Syria yesterday afternoon, which left him dead and unable to live.

The world’s most wanted terrorist was killed on Sunday for a third time in the space of two years, and is expected to stay dead for at least another 12 to 18 months.

FLASHBACK: How many times has Isis leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi been declared dead or injured?

My Gosh! Al Bagdaddy has more lives than a cat! LOL!
Baghdadi, who rarely appears in public, often declared dead or injured since inception of Isis in 2014.

Russia is investigating whether one of its air strikes killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of Isis. The ministry of defence said that an air strike hit a meeting of Isis leaders in Raqqa, Syria, on 28 May.
In the most recent instance, Syrian state TV said on 11 June that Baghdadi had been killed after being caught in a heavy artillery barrage in Raqqa, which Isis captured in 2014.

In October 2016, reports claimed Baghdadi was in critical condition after he and three other Isis senior leaders had been poisoned.

Russian defense ministry says has no proof of Islamic State leader’s extermination

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Russia’s defense ministry has no reliable proof that Islamic State (a terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed in a US raid and doubts that such a raid has ever taken place, the ministry’s spokesman, Igor Konashenkov, said on Sunday.

He said that the fact that the number of those who say about their participation in al-Baghdadi’s extermination and share contradictory details of the operation make one doubt that such an operation ever took place.

"We know nothing about any assistance to the flight of US aircraft to the Idlib de-escalation zone’s airspace in the course of this operation," Konashenkov said.

Russian MoD doubts Trump’s announcement of killing ISIS chief al-Baghdadi, rejects claims it assisted US forces in op

Trump's domestic troubles, the stories of the US stealing Syrian oil,a slumping economy are what led to this tremendous lie. He needed a victory and something to take the bad news off the front pages here in the US.
Overseas he is a laughing stock. And he has made our country the laughingstock of the entire Planet with this huge Whopper! The Trump syncophants have taken the hook!

There’s no credible data to prove a successful American raid took place against Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Russia’s Defense Ministry said. The US coalition didn’t even carry out any airstrikes in Idlib recently.

But the Russian Defense Ministry insisted that “there were legitimate questions and doubts about the very fact [of the US operation] and, especially, its success.”Moscow pointed out that it recorded no US coalition airstrikes in the Idlib area in northwest Syria on Saturday when the raid was held.

Russian MoD Does Not Have Reliable Information on US Operation in Syria to Neutralize Baghdadi

Trump is in big trouble. The Russians have pointed out the US theft of Syrian oil in the last few days. Oil which the Russians are contractually supposed to be producing. They have no knowledge of any US raid, didn't give permission for one and have stated there have been no American air operations over or near Idlib in quite a while.
Russian radars can see a gnat flying over Syria. Trump has been caught in one huge whopper.

"Russia treated us great. They opened up - we had to fly over certain Russia-held areas. Russia was great," Trump said.

The Russian Defence Ministry, however, stated that they are unaware of providing cooperation to US air units entering the airspace over the Idlib deescalation zone during that mission.

"No airstrikes performed by US aircraft or aircraft belonging to the so called 'international coalition' were detected on Saturday or during the following days," a statement by Maj.Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

Russian MoD Does Not Have Reliable Information on US Operation in Syria to Neutralize Baghdadi

Trump has been caught in a tremendous lie. He is finished!

"The Russian Defence Ministry has no reliable information about US servicemen conduction an operation to 'yet another' elimination of the former Daesh leader Abu Bark al-Baghdadi in the Turkish-controlled part of the Idlib deescalation zone", ministry spokesman Maj.Gen. Igor Konashenkov said.

Earlier, Trump declared that al-Badhgadi allegedly "died after running into a dead-end tunnel, whimpering and crying and screaming all the way", and boasted that the US personnel involved in the mission "were incredible".

He also thanked Russia, claiming that the US forces had to fly through certain Russian-controlled areas to reach their target.

"Russia treated us great. They opened up - we had to fly over certain Russia-held areas. Russia was great," Trump said.

Here's Why Trump's "Secure Syria's Oil" Plan Will Prove Practically Impossible

The below analysis is provided by "Ehsani" — a Middle East expert, Syrian-American banker and financial analyst who visits the region frequently and writes for the influential geopolitical analysis blog, Syria Comment.

Much has been debated since President Trump tweeted that “The U.S has secured the oil” in Syria. Is this feasible? Does it make any sense? The below will explain how and why the answer is a resounding NO.

Al-Omar and Conoco fields are already secured by Kurdish-led SDF and U.S forces. Some of the oil from these fields was being sold through third parties to Syria's government by giving it in crude form and taking back half the quantity as refined product (the government owns the refineries).

Webmaster's Commentary:

One of the issues conveniently left out of this analysis is, how long will Russia wait to disabuse President Trump over the statement he has made about "controlling Syria's oil"?!?

I am not a betting person, but I would almost be willing to bet, not for long.

India, US Officially Suspend Defense Cooperation

Submitted by GreatGameIndia, a journal on Geopolitics and International Relations.

In a major development brewing for sometime now, India and US have officially suspended Defense Cooperation after Americans refused to give India high-end jet-engine technology. At the heart of the Indo-US Strategic Partnership is what is known as the Defense Technology and Trade Initiative or DTTI. Under the 2012 DTTI, India and the US set up joint working groups (JWGs) for cooperation on aircraft carriers and jet engine technology, all of the 4 pathfinder projects have now been shutdown. The move comes days after former US Secretary of State and National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger’s visit to India.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) Dear Trump Administration; your timing could have possibly been worse on this issue, but I do not know how.

The festering relationship between India and Pakistan, over the status of Kashmir, appears to be coming to a head; both are nuclear armed countries.

We see this, published just a couple of weeks ago from the asiaforum.com:

China remains Pakistan’s key partner
12 October 2019
The article goes on to state:

'While meeting with a visiting Chinese military delegation led by General Xu Qiliang, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan termed ties with China an ‘anchor for regional stability’. The visit of the military delegation came amidst rising India–Pakistan tensions over India’s unilateral revocation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, stripping Indian-controlled Kashmir of its autonomy. The action led to a series of measures by China and Pakistan, again proving China to be Pakistan’s irreplaceable ally.'

IF in fact, the above is true, where do you think that India will go for their nuclear control switches?!? Russia, perhaps?!?

And are you thoroughly unable to fathom the fact that when the US pulls away on something like these controls, nature abhors a vacuum, and there will be another country more than willing to help india achieve its goal, legally, or illegally?

I am having a palm to forehead moment right now, at velocity, upon reading this.

Turkey Close To Purchasing Russian Su-35 Jets After Lockheed Deal Blocked

Turkey's Daily Sabah reports that Ankara is close to purchasing an initial round of Su-35 fighter jets from Russia, in what would mark a huge reversal of course following the heated Lockheed F-35 fighter and Russian S-400 saga with Washington, which has sunk US-Turkey relations to a low point over the past year.

Citing Turkish defense sources, the report reveals:

Turkish and Russian officials are discussing the details of the sale of a total of 36 Su-35 fighter jets to Turkey, two months after President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an's visit to the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) aviation show outside of Moscow.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was a very simple, and rational, choice by Edrogan; the SU-35 fighter jets work; Lockheed-Martin's F-35, after billions of dollars spent, and legitimate complaints by excellent US fighter pilots, does not.

The Plundering Of Ukraine By Corrupt American Democrats

Authored by Israel Shamir via The Unz Review,m

Top Dems are involved in the plundering of the Ukraine: new names, mind-boggling accounts. The mysterious ‘whistleblower’ whose report had unleashed the impeachment is named in the exclusive interview given to the Unz Review by a prominent Ukrainian politician, an ex-Member of Parliament of four terms, a candidate for Ukraine’s presidency, Oleg Tsarev.

Oleg, you followed Biden story from its very inception. Biden is not the only Dem politician involved in the Ukrainian corruption schemes, is he?
Indeed, John Kerry, the Secretary of State in Obama’s administration, was his partner-in-crime. But Joe Biden was number one. During the Obama presidency, Biden was the US proconsul for Ukraine, and he was involved in many corruption schemes. He authorised transfer of three billion dollars of the US taxpayers’ money to the post-coup government of the Ukraine; the money was stolen, and Biden took a big share of the spoils.

Russia in Middle East: The Unputdownable Putin

A cursory look at Putin’s Middle East maneuvers shows up the man as the cleverest player among the big powers competing for influence in the region.

While Russia’s direct military intervention in Syria and its success in providing a lifeline to the crumbling Assad regime is much talked about, because of the loss of face it incurred for the US, its other moves are equally interesting, particularly its ability to win the trust of both Iran and its arch rivals in the region.

Putin’s Plan To Take Control Of The Middle East

Russia makes deals. We kill people. The US will become isolated politically and economically by it's stupid and murderous policies. The American people will suffer tremendously and already are due to our criminal and stupid leadership.

Having secured pivotal economic and political influence in recent months with Iraq (both north and south), Syria, Iran (and by dint of this, the rest of the countries constituting the Shia arc of power, including Lebanon, Jordan, and Yemen), Russia appears to be in the process of ‘completing the set’. Last week saw a range of done deals and hints at more secretive deals that point to Russia taking full advantage of the power vacuum created in the Middle East by U.S.

Russia Is Taking Over Syria’s Oil And Gas

The Russians own the rights to producing Syrian oil. They are getting ready to assert those rights and give Trump a big slap in the face.
The Dog in the Manger will soon be kicked out.

In accordance with an energy cooperation framework agreement signed in late January, Russia will have exclusive rights to produce oil and gas in Syria.

The agreement goes significantly beyond that, stipulating the modalities of the rehabilitation of damaged rigs and infrastructure, energy advisory support, and training a new generation of Syrian oilmen. Still, the main international aspect and the key piece of this move is the final and unconditional consolidation of Russian interests in the Middle East.

"We Want To Keep The Oil"

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

“Well you may throw your rock and hide your hand,
workin’ in the dark against your fellow man.
But as sure as God made black and white
what’s down in the dark will be brought to the light.”

~ Johnny Cash/traditional, ‘God’s Gonna Cut You Down’

The Grayzone has an excellent new article out titled “US troops are staying in Syria to ‘keep the oil’ — and have already killed hundreds over it” detailing the many ways the Trump administration has openly admitted that it is keeping US troops in Syria to control the nation’s oil fields so that the Syrian government can’t use it to fund reconstruction efforts.

“We’ve secured the oil, and therefore a small number of US troops will remain in the area where they have the oil,” Trump said in a recent press conference.

“And we’re going to be protecting it. And we’ll be deciding what we’re going to do with it in the future.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word, please; neither the United States, nor Israel, has the right to invade a sovereign country, and profit from its natural resources, to keep its government from using its natural resources for reconstruction.

And whoever gave you any cock-eyed notion that this was either legal, or moral, should be crate-trained, like a little puppy, so as not to let its foulness further pollute the already criminal opinion so many, both around the world, and within this country, have of the US government right now.

When I was a kid, and easily impressed by public school propaganda, I used to believe that this country would, or could, do no wrong; then came the VietNam War, and I have never been able to trust this government ever since.

And it has not been helping that ever since your inauguration in 2017, you have added a new, and truly ignoble title, to that of the Office of the President of the United States: The United States' Merchant of Death in Chief, a role you obviously relish, particularly with regard to the Saudi monarchy and government, with which the US military and government are deeply "in bed", through the continuation, and aiding and abetting, of Saudi war crimes in Yemen.

When I was a kid, I could never have imagined that I would be living in a country run by war criminals; unfortunately, that has absolutely become the case with the Unhinged, Surveilled State of Amerika, and one can vote, and vote, and vote, hoping and praying something will change, yet nothing ever does; it is simply a case of which war criminals are in power at any given time.

I had so hoped, during the last election cycle, that your administration would, somehow, be different, given your campaign rhetoric, and that those promises about being less war-centric, as a method for the US government to achieve what it wanted, both geopolitically, and financially, might possibly be honored.

They have not been honored, no will they be in the future; simply put, you are just another frightful, massively disappointing caricature of a politician, driven by your obscene obeisance to Tel Aviv, and the financial desires of the people in the military/industrial complex, who surround you. and advise you.

But a question which should be keeping both you, and your advisors, up nights is the following; what is Putin's Russia going to do to keep this oil theft from becoming permanent?!? Mr. President, are you and your advisors ready to bring this country to war against Russia, for defending Syria's sovereignty?!?

Escobar: Vladimir Putin, Syria's Pacifier-In-Chief

Authored by Pepe Escobar via The Saker blog,

Russia-Turkey deal establishes ‘safe zone’ along Turkish border and there will be joint Russia-Turkey military patrols.

The negotiations in Sochi were long – over six hours – tense and tough. Two leaders in a room with their interpreters and several senior Turkish ministers close by if advice was needed. The stakes were immense: a road map to pacify northeast Syria, finally.

The press conference afterwards was somewhat awkward – riffing on generalities. But there’s no question that in the end Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan managed the near impossible.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That last paragraph, regarding "Syrian territorial integrity", is nothing less than a miracle here.

But I am very concerned that President Trump has decided to leave US military to guard the oil fields from ISIS; one has to wonder just how soon we may see one, or many, shooting incidents against both Turkish and Russian military.

I am not holding my breath right now, that the US government and military do not want a confrontation here; but again, if that is not the case, why are they not bringing our troops in Syria home?!?

Military action from one NATO member against another, cannot be good for the organization's image, or that of the US for that matter.

And it appears that the President has absolutely no "plan B", if the situation of unwanted troops on Syrian soil brings the shooting war to a head.

Should Erdogan's Summit With Putin Be Ringing Alarm Bells For NATO?

Authored by Con Coughlin via The Gatestone Institute,

With Turkey seemingly intent on forging an ever-closer relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the time has come to give serious consideration to Ankara's continued membership of the NATO alliance.

When the Turks first became members of NATO back in 1952, it was because their country was seen as a vital bulwark against the Soviet Union. Having Turkey in NATO meant it was easier to monitor the activities of the Soviet Black Sea fleet, and limited Moscow's ability to spread its tentacles into eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Now, thanks to the increasingly anti-Western conduct of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, none of these considerations remains relevant.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Coughlin, a word, please.

We know who you are and what you represent; The Gatestone Institute The Wikipedia article goes on to state:

'Gatestone Institute is a conservative think tank with a focus on Islam and the Middle East. It was founded in 2008 by Nina Rosenwald, who serves as its president. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and former national security advisor, John R. Bolton, was its chairman from 2013 to March 2018.'

First, I would like to politely ask just what NATO should do with Turkey at this time?!? Invade, perhaps, with Russia coming in to assist the Turks, as they did so remarkably well with Bashar Al Assad's Syria?!?

And what, sir, about the US nuclear missiles, still held at Incirkik?!? Would you suggest some kind of decap strike through which to secure them, then take a beeline out of Turkey, to store them "somewhere safe"?

It looks like the nearest NATO country, and relatively new to NATO participation, is Bulgaria Map: Turkey and Surrounding Countries

We are looking at a nearly 2 hours in, and two hours out; this is way too long to insure safely getting in, and getting out, of Turkey, without affecting a successful decap strike on Istanbul first; at what cost to NATO and Turkish military personnel, Mr. Coughlin?!?

Apparently, Mr. Coughlin has a difficult time getting how NATO has really been ignoring Turkey, as it continues surrounding Russia with NATO troops and equipment in both Europe, and particularly in former Communist entities:

US boosts number of high-precision weapons in sea waters surrounding Russia – Navy chief

Amid rising tensions, NATO chief pitches confrontation with Russia to US Congress

Preperations for War: NATO/US Intelligence Activities Increase around Russian Border

Folks, just because something would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing for NATO and the US to do, regarding Russia, is utterly zero guarantee that they won't do it.

And I would like to also politely remind Mr. Coughlin, that the US was attempting to sell Erdogan, his Military, and all of Turkey on a still-flawed, horribly dysfunctional defense system in the F-35 fighter.

F35 Flaws are being hidden, so LOCKHEED-MARTIN can declare that the development phase is done.

Pentagon is battling the clock to fix serious, hither-to, unreported F-35 problems

F-35 Fighter Jets Face Serious Flaws, Report Finds

F-35 faces most critical test

And forgive me, Mr. Coughlin, but why in the name of Heaven, is the US President Trump attempting to "sell" our NATO ally, Edrogan's Turkey, on the concept of buying these still very flawed fighters, when the world has seen precisely how wonderful the Russian S-400 defensive system has worked in Syria?

The point is, sir, when the US and NATO push Turkey away from them, Turkey is going to behave as the one which has been slighted here; that no one in the State Department, Pentagon, or White House saw this coming, was absolutely a catastrophic failure of imagination on their part.

The Plundering of Ukraine by Corrupt American Democrats

Top Dems are involved in the plundering of the Ukraine: new names, mind-boggling accounts. The mysterious ‘whistleblower’ whose report had unleashed the impeachment is named in the exclusive interview given to the Unz Review by a prominent Ukrainian politician, an ex-Member of Parliament of four terms, a candidate for Ukraine’s presidency, Oleg Tsarev.

Mr Tsarev, a tall, agile and graceful man, a good speaker and a prolific writer, had been a leading and popular Ukrainian politician before the 2014 putsch; he stayed in the Ukraine after President Yanukovych’s flight; ran for the Presidency against Mr Poroshenko, and eventually had to go to exile due to multiple threats to his life. During the failed attempt to secede, he was elected the speaker of the Parliament of Novorossia (South-Eastern Ukraine). I spoke to him in Crimea, where he lives in the pleasant seaside town of Yalta. Tsarev still has many supporters in the Ukraine, and is a leader of the opposition to the Kiev regime.

NYT Confirms Ukraine Didn’t Know U.S. Froze Aid at Time of July 25 Call: ‘Can’t Have Quid Pro Quo With No Quo’

The New York Times unwittingly confirmed the veracity of the GOP argument that there could be no quid pro quo because Ukraine did not know the United States had delayed the release of aid for the Eastern European country at the time of the July 25 call.

In an article on Wednesday, the newspaper actually tried to discredit the argument but ended up confirming it instead.

House Democrats pursuing the impeachment inquiry are trying to determine if President Donald Trump abused his power by allegedly coercing Ukraine during the July 25 call to investigate corruption allegations against Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in exchange for aid.

Clashes in northeastern Syria put Turkish-Russian Memorandum at risk

President Trump was up against bipartisan disapproval for his decision to withdrawal US troops and end military support for the Kurdish factions, and he stood his ground. And lest we forget, America’s number one ally in the region, Israel, is the biggest supporter of separatist Kurdish factions in Iraq and Syria, the independent Kurdistan project is conveniently aligned with the Greater Israel project. Standing up to both Capital Hill and Israel is a bold move.

As for the Israeli-Kurdish relationship, not much has changed since I originally reported on their mutually beneficial dealings a few years ago. Israel’s selfish interests in supporting Kurdish independence remain two-fold, oil and to counter supposed “increased Iranian influence” in the region.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS LARGE NUMBER OF TROOPS, EQUIPMENT IN NORTHERN SYRIA, WAR REPORT

276 more Russian Military Police officers and 33 additional equipment pieces will be deployed in Syria, Russia’s state media reported. These forces will likely participate in security operations along the Syrian-Turkish border to the east of the Euphrates River.

Additionally to the deployment in Kobane, the Russian Military Police already started carrying out patrols near the city of Qamishly.

On October 24, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin announced that Kurdish forces had started withdrawal from the border area.

Nonetheless, the implementation of the ceasefire is not going without difficulties. On October 24 afternoon, the Syrian Army repelled an attack by Turkish-backed militants near the villages of al-Kozleya and Tell al-Laban in northern al-Hasakah. Clashes between the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish-backed groups also took place near the villages of Assadiya, Mishrafa and Manajer.

Trump’s Syria ‘oil gambit’ is a crime, and what may be worse – a mistake

Sometimes this guy makes my head spin!

US President Donald Trump’s baffling comments about keeping some troops in Syria to “secure the oil” suggest a confused, contradictory – and ultimately self-defeating – policy.

While Trump has not officially renounced the “Assad must go” policy of his predecessor, the pullout was supposed to be the end of it in practice. The sudden talk about Syrian oil fields, however, suggests that someone from the “swamp” managed to persuade the president to keep one foot in the endless foreign wars he has pledged to end.

The Syrians rightly regard any US attempt to seize the oil fields as theft and piracy.

RUSSIA TAKES S-400 AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM TO SERBIA FOR ITS FIRST EVER DRILL ABROAD (VIDEOS)

SOURCE: RT
Moscow sent its latest S-400 Triumf and Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile systems to the Balkans for their first ever exercise abroad.
The S-400s, along with a battery of Pantsirs, were deployed at Batajnica Air Base, 25 km from Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday. They are there to take part in the ‘Slavic Shield 2019’ joint military drill.

It is the first Russian-Serbian exercise of its kind, as well as the first time Moscow’s state-of-the-art air defense missile systems have taken part in a drill abroad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks to me as though the Russians are not bashful about showing off how wonderfully some of their war toys work; I wish that the US government could honestly say the same about the state of their weaponry.

First Afro-Russian Forum: turning point in relations between Africa and Russia

A new phase of the strategic partnership between Africa and Russia is expected to kick off through a first-of-its-kind Afro-Russian Economic Forum which will be held in Russia’s Sochi city on 23-24 October. The Forum will be co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The forum will be a turning point in the path of cooperation between the African continent and Russia and is expected to enhance economic and trade relations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the idea of holding an African-Russian summit for the first time since his participation in the BRICS summit – which includes Brazil, Russia, China, India, and South Africa – in Johannesburg on July 2018. The decision to create the forum came after a long 10-year negotiation process.

Al-Sisi said Saturday upcoming first-ever Russia–Africa Summit reflects a historic friendship between the African countries and the Russian Federation.

IRAQI DEFENSE MINISTER GIVES US TROOPS 4 WEEKS TO LEAVE IRAQ

SOURCE: NY POST
US troops withdrawing from northeastern Syria to Iraq are “transiting” and will leave the country within four weeks, Iraq’s defense minister said Wednesday.

Najah al-Shammari made the remarks to the Associated Press following a meeting in Baghdad with visiting US Defense Secretary Mark Esper, who arrived as Iraqi leaders chafed over reports the US may want to increase the number of troops based in Iraq, at least temporarily.

Iraq’s military said Tuesday that American troops leaving northeastern Syria don’t have permission to stay in Iraq in a statement that appeared to contradict Esper, who has said all US troops leaving Syria would continue to conduct operations against the Islamic State group from Iraq to prevent its resurgence in the region.

He later added that the troops would be there temporarily until they are able to go home, but no time period has been set.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US Defense Secretary Mark Esper, a word, please; the gentleman with whom you should be negotiating, and right the heck now, is Muktada Al Sadr, the Iranian cleric who gave the US the ultimatum that they had to leave the moment the Original SOFA with Iraq said they should, otherwise, they would all be "fair targets" for his Mahdi Army.

Without his word on any kind of promise regarding how long US service members can actually stay in Iraq, you are just ...wasting time, and the US taxpayer's money.

I would politely like to remind you that Al Sadr is one of the most powerful men in Iraq with utterly no title or governmental job whatsoever, but it is his coalition which rules Iraq at this time.

Please remember that, in your coming negotiations, this is the only guy whose opinion really counts in Iraq.

Hours After Russia Deal, Turkey Halts Syria Incursion

While President Trump was very determined to insist that anything good happening in Syria was “created by us, the United States, and nobody else,” the evidence is pointing to substantial improvements in the regional situation coming more or less directly out of the new Russia-Turkey ceasefire deal.

In the hours after the Russia deal was signed, Turkey announced that they will push no further into Syrian territory. There would indeed be no need to, since Russia and Syria are going to expel Kurdish SDF forces from the area for them.

The US had tried to claim that all the SDF were already out of the region before the US ceasefire ended. Turkey disputed this and Russia seems to agree, promising to get them out in the 150 hour deal they reached. Russian DM Sergey Shogiu moved on to talk with the SDF head almost immediately after the announcement.

With Russia Joint Patrols, Turkey Rethinking Observation Posts in Syria

In this week’s new Russia-Turkey deal on northeastern Syria, the agreement will see Turkey and Russia carrying out joint patrols within the safe zone. US-Turkey joint patrols were initially part of the plan months ago, but the US ultimately backed out of that idea, and had subsequently suggested the whole operation was up to Turkey.

Turkey responded to the US plan by announcing 12 observation posts would be built to keep an eye on the Kurds. With the new deal with Russia, Turkey’s security sources say they are re-evaluating the observation posts, and might not need them anymore.

There really may not be a need for any observation posts with the joint patrols plan. If Russia is participating in the patrols, the two nations will have enough patrols to keep the area covered. Russia’s talks with the Kurds are sure to help.

Better Relations Between the US and Russia Are Not In the Cards By Paul Craig Roberts

By now Russians must wonder if the better relations they desire with the US are ever to be. US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, Democrat from Hawaii is the latest peacemaker to be declared “a Russian asset” by Hillary, the DNC, and the presstitutes.

The way the Democrats, the presstitutes, and their Puppet Master—the military/security complex—have it rigged, unless you want to bomb Russia into the stone age, you are a Russian asset.

How, then, can any American leader advocate bringing the dangerous tensions with Russia to an end?

Trump to lift Turkey sanctions as he claims ALL credit for Syria border de-escalation

The Border crossing between Iraq and Syria is now open. In due time the US base at Al Tanf will be closed and evacuated and we will be out of Syria.
Russia,Iraq and Iran will have access to the Med. China will build railroad and highway links and pipelines through Syria to the Med and another part of the Silk Road will be completed.

US President Donald Trump says he’ll lift sanctions on Turkey, unless he’s “not happy” with its actions in northern Syria, as he took complete credit for “saving” of Kurds, claiming the outcome was created by “no other nation."

Trump said Turkey had confirmed that it would make an earlier five-day ceasefire permanent and that it was holding "very well" so far.

He said the US would welcome the help of other countries in dealing with the conflict, adding that a "small number" of US troops would remain in the area "where they have the oil."

Turks appeased, Kurds saved, US gets breathing space: ‘Russia takes on job that US failed at’ in Syria

A Russian-Turkish deal on security arrangements in northeastern Syria is a major win for Moscow’s diplomatic approach, but Washington was hardly crushed by it, Middle East experts tell RT.

On Tuesday the security crisis in northeastern Syria, which was triggered by US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw troops embedded with Kurdish militias in the face of a looming Turkish crackdown, deflated. The breakthrough comes from Russia, where Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian host Vladimir Putin signed a short agreement on how security should be provided along the Syrian-Turkish border

The New World is Emerging Before Us

Thierry Meyssan underlines the extreme gravity, not of the US withdrawal from Syria, but of the collapse of the world’s current landmarks. According to him, we are entering a short transition period, during which the current masters of the game, the "financial capitalists" - and those he refers to here have nothing to do with either original capitalism or the original bank - will be rejected in favour of the rules of law laid down by Russia in 1899.

It’s a time that only happens once or twice a century. A new world order is emerging. All previous references disappear. Those who were doomed to grieve triumph, while those who ruled are thrown into hell. The official statements and interpretations made by journalists clearly no longer correspond to the events that follow one another. Commentators must change their discourse as quickly as possible, overturn it in its entirety or be caught up in the whirlwind of history.

Russia writes off African debt worth over $20 BILLION – Putin

Moscow has written off more than $20 billion in debt accumulated by African countries during the Soviet era, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday.

“It was not only an act of generosity, but also a manifestation of pragmatism, because many of the African states were not able to pay interest on these loans,” Putin told TASS on the eve of the summit.

While addressing the Russia-Africa forum in Sochi, he called for trade between Russia and African countries to be doubled in the next four to five years.

Putin also said that Russia intends to increase its presence in Africa at state level.

Less than 48 hours after US troops were pelted with tomatoes and stones as they abandoned their former Kurdish allies in northeastern Syria, Russia has moved in as the region’s new referee.

Up In Smoke: The Neocon Assault on Syria Is Finally Over

By a vote of 354-60 last week the U.S. House of Representative proved that Imperial Washington is addicted to war, and that the level of ignorance, bellicosity and mendacity among the people’s representative has reach appalling heights.

Having never voted for Washington’s pointless, illegal and destructive fomenting of Syria’s calamitous civil war in the first place, as the constitution requires, the bipartisan congressional mob actually had the gall to vote to keep US forces in the middle of a centuries old Kurd/Turk conflict that has zero implications – and we mean as in none, nichts and nada – for the security and safety of the American homeland.

Trump: US May Have to Go to War With Iran Soon

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Monday, President Trump bragged about his efforts to try to get the US “out of wars,” then warned that “we may have to get in wars, too. OK?“

Trump continued on talking about how ready the US is for a war with Iran, and how Iran will get hit “like they’ve never been hit before.” The implication is clear that Trump is nominally ending wars, but that America’s hawks will get fresh, new wars to replace them.

That’s likely a rather cynical political ploy, given how much political heat the administration is under for appearing to almost end the Syrian War. That war may not be ending, but offering to trade it for a much bigger Iran War would probably placate many critics.

It’s likely also related to Trump’s interest in portraying himself as generally tough and the best at war. That, and his fondness for threatening Iran with unprecedented horrors seem destined to keep threatening an Iran War forever a possibility.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(sigh) Mr. President, a word, please; you appear to be ready to bring this war-weary, and war-skeptical country into yet more and more geopolitical confrontations, for which you have absolutely zero actionable evidence .

The issue of Iran is, indeed, a very complicated issue; but attempting to "just do it", i.e., go to war against it, to appease your biggest supporters, the Israeli Government; Bibi Netanyahu; the US Deep State, and Sheldon Adelson, many well have far more, potentially devastating consequences for this country than you can possibly imagine at this point in time.

I see you surrounding yourself with "yes people", when what you need is a dedicated Department of Peace, to give you alternative possible actions from which you can choose to get what the the US government wants to see happen.

As Putin did with Syria, should the US government attack Iran, you may well see Russian Troops and equipment, available to Iranian troops, as a supplement; Iran and Russia conscript, and lately, Russian defensive systems have been proven to very possibly eclipse whatever the US, at this point in its weaponry development, can do (if not light-years ahead of us, but I digress).

Mr. President, I would like to politely but firmly suggest that you pay maximum attention to the following, and because this is serious business, and affects everyone who lives here.

The Bottom Line here, Mr. President; we may have problems with food insecurity right here in this country, and the prices are going to rise substantially because of this, for whatever food is available.

This will not interfere with the lifestyles of your very rich friends; but we have a huge number of people who are already marginalized, and this is going to be one lousy winter.

So the question is, rather than try to kill off a governmental system in the Middle East, perhaps now is the time to mobilize the USDA, social media, and teach people with very small resources how to slow cook, and make the best of their resources by teaching them how to preserve food.

Please remember; a population which is having difficulty feeding their families, are not going to vote for the people who were in charge of that economy which failed them with a basic human need, that... of sustenance.

The Turkish invasion of Rojava

Very interesting article. Maybe Trump and Putin should share The Nobel Peace Prize.
by Thierry Meyssan

While the international community publicly fears the brutality of the Turkish intervention in northern Syria, it unofficially welcomes this intervention as the one and only solution to bring peace to the region. The war against Syria ends with one more crime. The fate of Idleb’s foreign mercenaries, the rabid jihadists during eight years of a particularly savage and cruel war, has yet to be determined.

The international press, which has not followed the events on the ground and has been satisfied with the contradictory official statements of recent months, is astounded. All states in unison denounce the Turkish operation, including the United States, Russia, Israel, Iran and Syria, although they have all negotiated and validated it.
