Amazing video shows protesters in Chile using dozens of pocket lasers at the same time to crash a police drone

This week, amazing video showed protesters on the streets of Chile teaming up to bring down a police drone with what appear to be simple pocket lasers. The footage shows a huge group of people aiming around 40 or 50 green handheld lasers at a police drone hovering overhead. After about 20 seconds of being targeted by the communal green laser beam, the drone appears to malfunction and slowly falls toward the ground.

President Xi Warns "Stopping The Storm And Restoring Order" In Hong Kong Is China's Top Priority

pdate 2: Pretty soon, all of the students working to transform their campuses into fortresses against the Hong Kong police might be facing an even more formidable foe: The People's Liberation Army.

Foreshadowing the possibility that the Hong Kong protest movement could end with a Tiananmen Square-like mass-casualty incident - at least that's what we gleaned from remarks made by President Xi at the BRIC leaders summit in Brasilia.

According to a post on Weibo (China's answer to Twitter), Xi told his fellow BRIC leaders that stabilizing Hong Kong had become a serious challenge, and warned that "stopping the storm and restoring order" is a "most urgent task".

Here's a translation of the Weibo post, describing Xi's remarks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But the bigger question has to be, will a massive crackdown end the demonstrations?!?

I frankly, am not sure they will.

It appears that even though these demonstrators have been met with live fire; teargas, and worse, there appears to be a "toughening up moment" happening right now, when they just don't seem to care about the possibility that the crossfire could actually kill them.

And if this happens, what President Xi's troops of the Liberation Army may be able to accomplish, other than killing a lot of people, will be very limited in scope, in terms of ratcheting the violence down.

I wouldn't want to be in that man's shoes right now for anything; if his efforts fail, he will "lose face", both at home and abroad, and his vision for the Belt/Road project, may well vanish along with his Presidency.

He cannot be seen as having "made a bad move here", either by Hong Kong residents; Chinese citizens;, or the international community.

He knows, without any doubt, that any wrong read or judgement of the demonstrators, will have the 24/7 cable cycle grinding him up, and spitting him out.

Best Buy Made These Smart Home Gadgets Dumb Again

Last week, a series of smart home gadgets became dumb again. On November 6, Best Buy pulled the plug on its line of Insignia Connect products, including a convertible freezer/fridge, two kinds of smart plugs, a smart light switch, and a Wi-Fi–connected camera. Best Buy offered people who purchased the gadgets partial gift cards, not full refunds. Most of the items still have some functionality, but are no longer equipped with the smart features that led people to choose them in the first place. The Wi-Fi camera, however, ceased to function altogether.

The incident is a salient reminder that when you buy an internet-connected device, you're betting the company behind it will continue supporting its corresponding software in the future.

The "Oh, $hit!" Moment For Subprime Auto Loans Arrives; Serious Delinquencies Blow Out

But it’s even worse than it looks. And this time, there is no jobs crisis. This time, it’s the result of greed by subprime lenders.

Serious auto-loan delinquencies – auto loans that are 90 days or more past due – in the third quarter of 2019, after an amazing trajectory, reached a historic high of $62 billion, according to data from the New York Fed today:

This $62 billion of seriously delinquent loan balances are what auto lenders, particularly those that specialize in subprime auto loans, such as Santander Consumer USA, Credit Acceptance Corporation, and many smaller specialized lenders are now trying to deal with. If they cannot cure the delinquency, they’re hiring specialized companies that repossess the vehicles to be sold at auction. The difference between the loan balance and the proceeds from the auction, plus the costs involved, are what a lender loses on the deal.

The repo business, however, is booming.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These numbers are very scary; and they well may be just the tip of the iceberg here.

"No, No, You Guys; This US-Backed Military Coup Is Perfectly Legitimate!"

Authored by Caitlin Johnstone via Medium.com,

I just keep tripping on how dumb this latest US-backed military coup is. It’s in Bolivia in case you’ve lost track, which would be perfectly understandable since US-backed coups have become kind of like US mass shootings — there’s so many of them they’re starting to blend into each other.

I mean, for starters the justifications for this one are so cartoonishly reachy and desperate it boggles the mind a bit. The main argument you’ll see in favor of the coup is that Evo Morales was elected after Bolivia’s high court ruled that he could run for a fourth term, but the (democratically elected) court ruled against a 2016 referendum on presidential term limits.

That’s it. That weird, pedantic appeal to a particular interpretation of bureaucratic technicalities is the whole entire argument in support of a literal military coup backed by the United States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh) So what does this little country have, for which international (and US) businesses hunger for so mightily, that put it in the calendar for regime change in November of 2019?!?

Here, in a word, is what happened; and that word is "lithium."

The Grayzone has published an article documenting this coup’s many ties to Washington. Put it all together, and you’ve got a US-backed military coup

The story goes on to state: "The overthrow of the elected leader cannot be understood without a glance at the nation's massive reserves of this crucial mineral."

by Vijay Prashad

"Bolivia’s key reserves are in lithium, which is essential for the electric car. Bolivia claims to have 70 percent of the world’s lithium reserves, mostly in the Salar de Uyuni salt flats. The complexity of the mining and processing has meant that Bolivia has not been able to develop the lithium industry on its own. It requires capital, and it requires expertise."

Tesla (United States) and Pure Energy Minerals (Canada) both showed great interest in having a direct stake in Bolivian lithium. But they could not make a deal that would take into consideration the parameters set by the Morales government. Morales himself was a direct impediment to the takeover of the lithium fields by the non-Chinese transnational firms. He had to go.

After the coup, Tesla’s stock rose astronomically."

California Department of Toxic Substances Control Says Rumors of “Radioactive Ash” from the Woolsey Fire Are Unsubstantiated

California Department of Toxic Substances Control scientists were able to access the SSFL site and assess data collected. “We confirmed that the SSFL facilities that previously handled radioactive and hazardous materials were not affected by the fire,” Russ Edmondson, the department’s media information officer, tells Los Angeles. “Our multi-agency team took measurements of radiation and hazardous compounds, both on the site and in the surrounding community. The results from this initial round of testing showed no radiation levels above background levels, and no elevated levels of hazardous compounds other than those normally present after a wildfire.” These preliminary findings are consistent with the previously reported information supplied by the CDTSC.

Here's The Moment Erdogan's White House Visit Took "A Dark Turn"

It was clear in yesterday's press briefing during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to the White House, where he didn't actually receive much push back from either President Trump or the press (at one point Trump requested that only a "friendly" reporter from Turkey ask questions of Erdogan), that the touchy subject of Turkey's acquirement of Russia's S-400 anti-air system was front and center in closed door conversations.

But Erdogan appeared unmoved by whatever pressure he may have faced in the Oval, given he later told reporters while standing next to the US president that Turkey cannot possibly discard the S-400 due to its strategic ties wit Russia, but he also added, “I’ve told Mr. Trump that we’re ready to buy Patriots.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is painfully obvious, that Erdogan has begun a slow, but unmistakable, pivot toward Russia, in both in its economic choices, and the weaponry it chooses to use with which to defend Turkey.

Paul Craig Roberts Rages At The Latest 'False' Trump Impeachment News

As the media are all out to get Trump, there is no way to get any valid information about the so-called impeachment. But you don’t have to pay too much attention to notice that the Democrats and the presstitutes are constantly changing the focus. The alleged whistleblower, who only had hearsay information, if that, has dropped out of the picture, being too compromised by his affiliations and prior meetings with Adam Schiff during which the “whistleblowing” was planned as an attack on Trump.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is one of the sorriest, most nasty, vile display of purely partisan politics I have ever seen in my life; and at 70, I have seen more than a few of these incidents.

Leaked Bank Records Confirm Burisma-Biden Payments To Morgan Stanley Account

Documents allegedly leaked by the Ukrainian General Prosecutor's office to CD Media have shed light on payments from Burisma Holdings to Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, a corporation controlled by Hunter Biden partner (and fellow former Burisma board member) Devon Archer.

Archer was Yale roommates with John Kerry's stepson Chris Heinz - the two of whom opened investment firm Rosemont Capital with Joe Biden's son, Hunter. Rosemont Capital is the parent company of Rosemont Seneca Partners, LLC - the entity which receive the Burisma payments and in turn aid Biden.

The newly leaked records show 45 payments between November 2014 and November 2015 totaling $3.5 million, mostly in increments of $83,333.33. The payments correspond to Morgan Stanley bank records the New York Times reported on earlier this year. The records were submitted as evidence in a case against Archer who was convicted in a scheme to defraud pension funds and an Indian tribe of tens of millions of dollars.

Webmaster's Commentary:

BADA BING, BADA BOOM, BADA BING!!!

IS this what his dad, Joe Biden, means when he says his son Hunter "did nothing wrong"?!?

Apparently, Father and Son have both had their consciences surgically removed, to believe that this represents "doing nothing wrong, followed by Biden's threat/attempt to shake the Ukrainian government down, if the government didn't fire the prosecutor looking into Burisma.

A shooting has been reported at a high school in the Southern California city of Santa Clarita, officials said, and video from the scene shows emergency workers taking several people out on gurneys.

The shooting was reported at Saugus High School on Thursday morning, some 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles, and law enforcement officers are looking for whoever fired the shots, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

At least five patients — two in critical condition — have been taken to Henry Mayo Hospital or are on their way, the hospital said on Twitter, with a hashtag referring to the school shooting. The hospital did not specify how they were injured.

Intel failed to fix dangerous 'ZombieLoad' flaw affecting chips in MILLIONS of devices made by Apple, Microsoft, and Google

In a public announcement on Tuesday, security experts at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam said a variant of previously documented RIDL and ZombieLoad flaws continue to expose Intel chips' internal architecture and jeopardize sensitive information like passwords and other personal data.

Those flaws have persisted despite multiple patches issued by Intel, who has claimed that the issues had been fully rectified.

Researchers say flaws discovered last year that expose sensitive information on millions of devices have persisted despite claims by Intel that they would be fixed

In May researchers say they informed Intel that their patch fell short of addressing several vulnerabilities but chose to remain silent on the shortcomings with the promise that Intel would fully patch them.

After six months, however, those flaws have persisted.

Convicted murderer suddenly claims to be a transgender; gets taxpayer-funded hormone treatments in prison

This is what happened to Steven Hayes, who sexually assaulted and brutally strangled a Connecticut mother back in 2007 before leaving the woman’s daughter to burn alive in their house, which he set on fire – nice guy. Hayes was later convicted and sentenced to receive the death penalty – that is, until he suddenly decided to “come out” as a transgender.

The moment he decided to wrap that proverbial rainbow flag around his gender-confused body, Hayes was given an immediate sentence relief. His death penalty sentence was replaced with life in prison, and Hayes was immediately granted the “hormone treatment therapy” that he demanded as part of his “transition” process into a woman – all of which is to be paid for by taxpayers, of course.

Those 11,000 “scientists” warning about an impending “climate emergency” are just “11,000 random people,” investigation reveals

In truth, these 11,000 “scientists” are actually just 11,000 ordinary people who were duped into believing that cow farts are destroying the planet, and subsequently responded by signing their names on some website.

According to radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, some “buddies” of his over at the group Power Line were the first to discover that these 11,000 so-called “scientists” aren’t actually scientists at all, despite what fake news media outlets like NBC, CNN, The Guardian, and Al-Jazeera continue to claim.

“There was no study; there was just a press release,” Limbaugh explained on his program. “And it wasn’t 11,000 scientists; it was 11,000 random people who put their names on a website. This was a total managed lie. There was no study. There were no scientists.”

Disney+ Launched and Pirates Love It, Especially Mandalorian

When Disney confirmed that the initial rollout would be limited to the United States, Canada and the Netherlands, the piracy lure only became stronger. Star Wars fans in most parts of the world currently can’t watch the highly anticipated Mandalorian series, unless they pirate.

With this in mind, we kept a close eye on the official Disney+ launch this week. There was an enormous amount of media coverage which, undoubtedly, led to a lot of legitimate subscriptions. But, at the same time, pirate sites were buzzing too.

Shortly after Disney+ opened shop the first pirated releases started to spread. First through private communities and then over at public torrent sites, cyberlockers, and not-so-legal streaming platforms. After a few hours, pirated copies of the Mandalorian were everywhere.

The Birth of the Deep State: A History

By Peter C. Earle

Every presidential administration finds some degree of internal resistance. That which has confronted the Trump Administration, however, seems to be the most active and aggressive ever. From “Anonymous”, to a record number of leakers, to physically hiding documents from the President, a large and active bureaucratic resistance is at work to stymie many of the Executive branch’s goals. Everything from secret military plans to embarrassing aspects of daily life in White House has been made public.

Indeed, the deep state (as the President and his defenders brand it) has been relentless. Nor is this purely partisan. The same deep state which is dogging Trump also prevented Obama from closing the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

But where did the American deep state come from? Has it always been there?...

UN condemns rockets fired from Gaza; ignores deadly Israel air strikes

The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nickolay Mladenov, said today that “the indiscriminate launching of rockets and mortars against population centres is absolutely unacceptable and must stop immediately.”

In a statement he ignored the continuous Israeli strikes in Gaza, which have resulted in the death of 24 and injured 69 over the past two days, in addition to demolition and damaging residential buildings in the besieged enclave.

“I am very concerned about the ongoing and serious escalation between Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Israel, following the targeted killing of one of the group’s leaders inside Gaza yesterday,” Mladenov said.

THE STAR OF DAVID AS A SYMBOL OF OPPRESSION

It is to be thanked for the criticism of the left-wing town councilor Simon Aulepp that finally a dispute and a basis for discussion arise in Germany. Who is Jewish and what does Judaism mean in Germany? (1) He asks the legitimate question of whether the city council would raise the flag of Saudi Arabia at the town hall, if Muslims were killed in an attack in Germany? However, in this context, Saudi Arabia seems unhelpful. I would find Turkey the right state in this context when it comes to expressing sympathy in racist murders. After all, about 3.5 million Turkish citizens live in Germany.

Three children killed as Israel escalates Gaza attacks

The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip rose to at least 25 on Wednesday as Israel escalated its lethal attacks on the territory that began on Tuesday morning.

Three children are among those slain.

Gaza’s health ministry said that more than 85 Palestinians have been injured, including 30 children.

Israel extrajudicially executed Islamic Jihad leader Baha Abu al-Ata early Tuesday along with his wife, provoking an exchange of Israeli missile strikes on Gaza and rocket fire from the territory.

Israel is targeting civilian areas, homes, vehicles, stores, security sites and fields, the human rights group Al Mezan stated on Wednesday.

Media use of “targeted killing” whitewashes Israeli attacks

The “pinpoint” strike or “targeted killing” is back. Mainstream media simply can’t resist such terms even when the wording is clearly misleading.

The New York Times described Baha Abu al-Ata, who was killed in an Israeli air strike early Tuesday, as a senior commander of Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Adopting the language of the Israeli army, The Times wrote that “Targeted strikes against militant leaders have led to war before, and Israel has sworn them off in the past.”

But this was no “targeted” strike.

In the third paragraph, the newspaper of record notes that Asma Abu al-Ata, the commander’s wife, was also killed in the attack on their home in the Shujaiyeh neighborhood of Gaza City.

Not until the 24th paragraph is it noted that one of Abu al-Ata’s young sons was injured as well.
