NATO will send additional military equipment and aircraft to the Black Sea, following a series of drone attacks on shipping vessels in the key waterway.

Allison Hart, NATO's principal spokeswoman, said in an Oct. 20 post on X that the assets will support surveillance, reconnaissance, and forensic activities.

Last night Ukraine launched another large-scale attack on the St. Petersburg region, which according to reports was the largest of the war as it targeted multiple different enterprises, including oil and data center facilities.

The Ukrainian operation against Saint Petersburg, Russia, has been the largest in this war against this Russian city.

Three major targets were hit during this operation:

The Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) want to buy one million anti-personnel mines from domestic manufacturers. The goal is to have domestic production up and running by 2028.

Around 100 million euros is earmarked for the acquisitions.

Preparations for the purchase began after Finland's withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention took effect in January, Colonel Riku Mikkonen of the Army Command told Finnish news agency STT. He said there are around half a dozen companies in the country able to make mines.

The Neocons have won. They have successfully shifted the blame for the Ukraine war entirely onto Russia, and 99% of media coverage now frames the invasion as completely unprovoked. Their hatred of Trump is so intense that they feel compelled to oppose him on principle, regardless of what he does. Now they are cheering Zelensky on to destroy every refinery in Russia, as if this will somehow win the day, lead to Russia’s collapse, and let them dance on Russian graves. Nowhere in the press is there anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together.

European NATO members could face years-long delays in obtaining American weapons as the United States prioritises replenishing its own military stockpiles following its war against Iran, according to Washington’s ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker. Speaking at the Warsaw Security Forum on October 12, Whitaker warned that American defence manufacturers would be largely occupied with meeting domestic requirements, leaving limited production capacity available for foreign customers.

A million people live in Kaliningrad, a Russian territory that borders no friendly country. Squeezed between Poland and Lithuania and severed from the Russian mainland since 1991, it can be crossed by car in under two hours. The Baltic Fleet is stationed there, along with Iskander launchers, S-400 batteries and a network of radars and jammers that reaches well into Polish and Lithuanian airspace.

In a significant first of the seven-month long Iran war, Russian President Vladimir Putin has relayed to US President Donald Trump Tehran's position on a possible resolution to the ‌US-Iran war, according to the Kremlin.

So far it is only the Kremlin readout of the two leaders' Friday call which mentions the Iran proposal was conveyed, however it didn't specify what they discussed in particular.

A US reconnaissance aircraft circled around Russia's Kaliningrad region for over three hours, according to flight data studied by Sputnik on Friday.

The Bombardier ARTEMIS II aircraft took off from the Mihail Kogalniceanu airbase in Romania at around 5:53 GMT. It entered a circular trajectory along the borders of the Kaliningrad region near the Polish city of Augustow at about 9:00 GMT. The plane followed this pattern until 12:23 GMT, when it took a southwesterly direction, according to the data.

NATO’s top military commander is working on a strategy for achieving a quick victory against a Russian attack on its eastern flank, with a particular focus on integrating new defense technologies like drones and AI into traditional power.

Estonia is preparing to deploy weapons capable of striking the Russian city of St. Petersburg, the Financial Times has reported.

Amid unprecedented mis- and dis-information from NATO’s European members, Tallinn has presented the proposed buildup as a form of deterrence, should Moscow “test” NATO. However, Russia’s leadership has repeatedly stressed that it has no intention of attacking the US-led military bloc. Moscow has also warned that any direct conflict with NATO would likely escalate into nuclear war.
