The president's son-in-law and political advisor Jared Kushner admitted that a peace deal with Iran is 'not there yet' and warned Trump not to rush amid 'good dialogue.'

Kushner, the husband of Ivanka Trump, laid bare that negotiations with Iran weren't nearing a close and said the president will 'be very patient' in making a deal.

'There's really not a lot of trust between American and Iran after all these years of not having these relations and dialogues,' he told Fox News on Monday.

'But obviously, they're engaging in a very strong way and that's quite positive, but we're not there yet on understanding.'

Kushner championed the conversations between the US government and Iran as 'probably more robust than it's maybe ever been.'

'There's been a lot of good dialogue which I think is very, very helpful, right? You can't make deals with each other if you don't understand each other. You have to exchange views,' he continued.

'President Trump is gonna be very patient. He doesn't like to - he doesn't wanna rush to a deal. He'll make the right deal when the right deal is ready, but we are having very positive and active conversations.'

Kushner added that the president is currently focusing his attention on applying 'economic pressure' on the region, but admitted that Iran is 'not showing any interest in doing something that makes sense for us.

Claire's Observations:  Translation from "Kushnerese" into English:  There is absolutely no "deal" imminent between the US government and Iran, period, end, of discussion, nor does it look as though one is going to be reached.

Oman has already signed an agreement with Iran regarding the Strait, completely bypassing any US role in its governance.

Unfortunately, it appears that it is not a case of if weapons start careening around the Strait of Hormuz, but when that may continue.

Iran is chafing under the strictures of the blockade and  from a PR standpoint, doesn't want to appear to be "the first" to re-engage in hostilities; but ultimately, it cannot reasonably be expected to "hold off for an extended period of time, as this blockade is taking its toll financially.

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on how soon hostilities might begin again, but I wouldn't bet against them starting very soon, potentially before the end of the month and the coming Labor Day holiday in the states.   Congress re-convenes as follows: the House comes back first — September 8; the Senate follows, on September 14

President Trump is feeling the pressure of both the return of Congress after its summer break, and that US Mid-Term election clock, ticking  inexorably toward the 4th of November. And with this war against Iran already largely defining his second term,  Trump may well decide to do something "horrific/dramatic" which he thinks may "change the equation" in the US's favor.

The most intelligent thing President Trump could possibly do right now, is declare victory, and bring our troops home; unfortunately, his extremely bruised ego, badly savaged by Iran's absolute refusal to capitulate as a result of the US/Israeli  assault, won't let him.

President Trump is out for both blood and revenge, two terrible energies which should never influence the actions of a sitting President, but there you have it.

And rather than echo Kushner's very rational request for presidential "patience", Hegseth, Trump's Secretary of War will move heaven and earth to give President Trump the closest approximation possible of precisely what Trump wants to see happen here.

And of course, what President Trump wants to see happen here, is precisely the outcome Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has mandated that Trump accomplish, in order to save his own hide in his upcoming election, happening in Israel the end of this October .

As a Christian Pacifist Activist who never advocates violence, I don't want to see one more American military personnel member; one more Iranian; or one more Israeli military member die, or get maimed for life, in the continuation of this undeclared war, which was never approved by a vote of the US Congress, as is mandated by the US Constitution.

Trump's alleged "re-setting" of the  Presidential "War Powers Act" timetable in Iran, was as extra-Constitutional as it was singularly ill-advised.

And the question absolutely no one in the Bowels of Power in DC wants to answer publicly, is the following;  how long will it take before China, which is desperately dependent on Iranian oil to keep their economy moving, believes it will need to intervene militarily here on Iran's behalf?!?

I have no idea on this last one; but what concerns me is, I don't know whether any of the civilian or military components of our government have a clue about this, either.
